Default I hope it is not a stupid question.

I've been messing around with weed whacker engines for some time playing with diffeent type of ignition (including glow plug) and diffeent fuels. What I found I got quite nice boost of power running the engine on methanol-gas mixture (and magneto ignition).

So here is the question for MVVS 1.6 gas engine. Can it be run on 48.5% methanol 48.5% gasoline 1.5% Motul oil and 1.5% Castrol racing oil? This fuel worked on Poulan 25cc giving about 1/3 hp more still using the same carb (fuel consumption is a bit higher tho).

Will it work or the head will blow off?

RysiuM,

I don't know if it will work, or last, but the one sure thing is that you will be voiding the warranty.

Methanol can release somewhat more energy than gasoline, for a given volume of air, which is why glow engines have a bit more power than same displacement gas engines.

I would not do it.
