Hi there.
Can you give me a bit of info with regard to the throttling and mid range performance of the 26cc IFS petrol motor.
It's a toss up of either the MTW TD40 canister or the 3266 tuned pipe.
The motor will replace my problematic YS 140-sport and will be fitted to my X-TECH YAK - 54.
The model is 73" span and weighs almost 11lbs.
Would a 12oz tank be sufficient for a 10 to 12min flight, which is a mix of imac and a little 3d.
Prop wise either a Mejzlic 18 x 8 two blade or 16 x 11 three blade.
Oil wise, can I use 3W's own fully synthetic oil which is currently mixed at 50:1 for use in my 3W-55i powered WH Extra 300S.
Any info would be much appreciated in helping me to make a well informed purchase.
Regards
Aeroboy.

*- the engine uses 3/4 oz/minute, using an 18x8 prop. The 16x11 is not such a good choice.
*- oilwise, use what MVVS prescribes, and use that in all your engines, not the other way around.

Hi Pe.
Is 3W's own oil not as good as made out then!!. I've only just purchased a litre and at £15 it's not cheap. I may have some difficulty in obtaining Mobil 1 2T locally it may well have to be mail order.
Is the 26 IFS going to be a good match for the YS 140 Motor that I have removed from the YAK due to problematic running and very expensive fuel.
Have you any good information regarding baffling the motor in a Yak cowling ?

For a baffling example, look at the " Evolution 58GX2 ign. LED flashing" thread at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_62...tm.htm#6255021
I will post a complete report soon in my own forum www.prme.nl/forum (working on it, but time is not on my side)

Aeroboy,
I also can't comment on the 3W oil, but I have to say that having seen the insides of MVVS engines running exclusively on the recommended oil, and parts from engines that haven't, I have no doubt that MVVS have got it absolutely right!
The oil is readily available from MVVS - I just need to check the UK postal regs before buying it.
BTW, the running in oil supplied with the 45, 58, and 116 is the same Mobil oil.
