Default Exceed FA-18C control problems

I just received an Exceed FA-18C and finished putting it together. The ailerons will not respond. I have checked the connections but i am lost after that. The elevator, throttle and steering are working fine. Any suggestions or do I have something defective?

Sometimes ( or more correctly quite often ) the connectors are not plugged into the proper RX channels as the plane comes from the factory.

Try temporarily disconnecting the elevator channel lead on the RX, and plugging the ailerons into that, just to make sure that the ailerons are operating correctly.

If that works then try the reverse, putting the elevator lead into the aileron channel, to make sure that the RX is also working correctly.

You can try plugging the alieron servo into the another slot on the receiver, such as the elevator. So your alieron servo becomes the elevator. If it's still doesn't work then we can conclude it's a servo problem.

Found the problem. There is a short where the alieron wires are spliced together. Is there a replacement avaliable?

Great diagnostics!

Can you get at the connector to replace it if John sends you a new one?

Yes, the alieron extention wire has a short where it goes from one set of wires to two sets of wires.
