RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
ORIGINAL: kerwin50 thanks nitro I got the wing templates today now i can finish up my ultimate 40 i really didn't want to just bolt the top wings on with out it cause i want her to be a top performer an not have ie enter into flat spins easly an knife edge with out any roll coupling an have good stall charterist It will not really knife edge as the tail is far too short to sustain it. It will also go right to the belly when you try. In the smaller Ultimates, all do this... once you get into the 1.20's and larger this tends to stop. |
RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
hey guys. I purchased a nitro models bobcat 53.The plane was excellent. however the c/g was incorrectly noted in the manual as 6.9 inches. this resulted in a very nose heavy aircraft. It crashed when i throttled back and took forever when i tried to turn for final. Researching, I found that the c/g should have been around 9.6 or so. I would like to investigate the possiblity of getting a replacement aircraft. I still have it and can provide pictures or send it back to nitro models. To make this more frustrating, I can get no one from nitro to contact me about this. It is not expected for this to go on the forum, but the c/g problem needs addressed. As I said, the airplane is excellent, except for the c/g. Thank you for your time.

Ken
Did you check the balance of the plane before you flew it or are you a new pilot, i know they gave you the wrong measurments but if it was that far off, if you are new it is better to ask some one that knows, most are happy to help, i do hope that they take care of you it is there foolishness that makes a plane unsafe at the field, usually when they make a mistake like that they have a note telling about the correct cg. point, good luck, rollie |

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
I'd just like NitroModels to send me one of those Cri-Cri models, so I can put it together, report on how it goes together and flies just like I did with the little Blue EP Ultimate----that they later sold out of! So if Nitro would like to sell out of the Cri-Cri, just let me know!:D;)

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
Me I'm just happy to see NP making an attempt to improve what was lacking in their company. Sure there was a lot of bad press and yep bad response to customer complaints in the past. I'm hoping that is in the past, and they can over come what was in the past.
Getting someone to actually answer our complaints and do something about them is a great step forward. Me I'm happy with what I got for what I paid, I wasn't expecting a Rolls when I paid for a Focus. The product they offer for what they charge, ain't bad at all in my book. Can they improve, sure! But at least they are attempting to improve. What I'm not seeing at least from some of the posts is a lack of QC. /Granted these birds are not for first timers, but jeeze the manuals are the pitts. May I suggest in the notion of improving what you offer, along with the customer service end you have started, two things. #1 get the manuals out to someone who builds these birds, and let them go over them before you send out the birds. Have them redo the manuals to a more understandable and not missing critical steps manual. #2 get these birds into builders hands before release, you need to have someone actually look at them, build them, fly them, and find the flaws before you release them to the public and get crucified for a flaw that should have been caught. Having great customer service for complaints is great, and having the parts available is also a good one. But if the product goes out defective, you'll be spending more on fixing what was wrong and dealing with the bad press that come's with them. A one month delay in releasing a bad kit that is going to kill you in bad press and returns would be a lot cheaper then having someone actually go over the bird and manual and finding it's faults, and fixing them.;) p.s. I am available for such a position, as long as it's WWII birds, an I get to keep them for free. LOL |

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
I`ve just completed my Cri-Cri from Nitro Models. The kit qaulity is excellent for the price and everything assembled with ease.
As recomended I`ve replaced the supplied brushed motors with brushless inrunners which fit with ease. The C&G States 50-55mm from the leading edge which I guess looks about right (wing chord approx is 190mm). Just waiting for calm dry conditions to test fly.[8D] |

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
7 days to pack my plane for shipping? What gives?
|
RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
the shipment just arrived on wednesday morning and we've worked OT to moved everything out before the long weekend...it was suppose to come in last friday night but ran into tons of terminal traffics

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
On receiving a telephone call and an e-mail from Nitro, almost put me in shock, stating that a replacement shippment was being sent. This time I had a tracking nmber from the shipper,Nitro, and was able to see on the FEDEX site where the box was.
Today, 24 Nov 2006, I received the box. On opening everything was as it should be, no missing parts and above all no broken structures. And the box was doubled so as to prevent any damage. It seems that once you get their attention they really do have a customer service department. Sending the tracking number to the customer is very neccessary and I hope in all future shippments to everyone they continue this practice. If I see something in the future that catchs my eye, I will buy from Nitro again. Gerald Nichlols San Diego Flying's Fun Crashing Sucks |
RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
I recieved one of the blue 66" mustangs. It was shipped quickly, a tracking number was emailed and the plane arrived double boxed, well packed and in perfect shape. I've got to say that for the money this is a nice airplane. The build job seems to be strong and straight and the covering looks good too. No complaints from me and I'll definitley be buying from them again in the future.

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
NitroStaff1,
I have your Fly Swallow and completed it exactly as the instructions call for. The completed model took 6 oz of weight in the very tail of the fuse to put the CG as called for. I'm using a Jett .60 engine. Flying it was a near disaster. Seemed very tail heavy; almost uncontrolable. Fortunate to get it back on the ground. Question: Are you sure about the specified CG? PS: It's a beautiful plane! |
RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?
Arthur
Move the C.G. forward about 1". I suspect that you'll just need to remove all of the tail weight. Then lift the plane by the wing tips. Check to see that the C.G. is at about the widest part of the wing chord or in front. Remember that it WILL fly and land if nose heavy, but not if it is tail heavy. |
