Default Glow plug reaches ??

Hi,
I have two OS engines, a .28F heli and a .32F heli. I'm unsure of the reach that is required for these engines. My needle settings are constantly changing and they are both hard to start on the first flight of the day. I purchased both these engines used and I just want to make sure they both get what they require. I put a long plug in the .28 and it seems to hold the tune a lot longer. The one I took out of the engine seems to be between the short and the long! Could you please elimate this variable for me. I have seen to date 3 different reaches of plugs. How many different reaches are available?
Thanks a lot
Steve

Default Glow plug reaches ??

Steve,
I believe there are currently two but there have been numerous in the past and we're talking about a very old engine here. I would go with a long, idle bar plug. I think you'll find that will make a big difference in that old engine's performance. It also may simply be worn out.

Those old engines which we know we have parts for are listed in the parts listings at:

http://www.osengines.com/parts/discontinued.html
http://www.supertigre.com/parts/index.html

If your engine is not listed here, we have little or no information available to assist you.

These gentlemen rebuild old motors and stock large quantities of older engine parts. Either of them may be able to assist you:

5) Alternatively, you might try placing an ad on one of the internet lists such as rec.models.rc.***, www.rcuniverse.com and some of the many other r/c related sites to attempt to purchase the item which interests you.

6) You might try swap meets, club sales, estate sales that list hobby equipment, etc.

Default thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I have yet to try a long plug with an idle bar. I will give that a try before I do anything else.
Thanks
Steve
