Default O.S. 46FS piston ring

While replacing bearings on my .46SF, I managed to break the piston ring. A new ring is on order and I would appreciate any tips on how to avoid breaking the new one during the replacement process.

Thanks,

DaveB

Basically, you just have to be careful when installing the ring. Set it on top of the piston, and then gently start at one side of the ring gap and work your way around, sliding the ring over the edge and onto the side of the piston. Then gently work it down into the groove. Make sure the ring gap is lined-up with the pin.

Bax,

Followed your advice. The ring was installed without a hitch.

Thanks,
