Default New Year's Resolutions - v2.11

It's that time of year again when we make outrageous promises to ourself that we are unable to keep. So let's here them!!

Mine: Not going to buy another RC Kit until all of my current ones are all runners at the same time. However, I am allowed a new kit if I sell an existing one first.

I also want to finish reading all my books before moving on to the next one. I have a bunch of half read books (different subjects) laying around.

Default RE: New Year's Resolutions - v2.11

i have several, but if i do just 1 or 2 ill be happy
in no particular order:
lose some damn weight
ride my bike more
build a new engine for my car and have the trans rebuilt
get a job (even if it's some crappy part time position i don't like)
spend less time on the computer
finish some of the started and never finished projects iv accumulated in the past 10+ years
clean up/out the garage (which i think falls under finish unfinished projects, but wth, if i separate it from the rest maybe it will actually happen)
i started off good last year, and then broke the handlebars on my bike and it all went to hell. next thing i knew the 15lbswas back, the workbench was under model cars, RC cars, and airbrush equipment. i hadn't changed the oil in my car in 11 months, the trans leak was worse. and i was spending 6 hours a day online arguing with teenagers. my chick dumped me. i had no income. i started drinking more.
all because of handlebars? really? BMX more therapeuticthen paying to lay on a couch crying to some jerk with adegree. more fun to

Quit SKOAL.....again.....sigh....

Recent findings show chewing tobacco isn't nearly as bad as they thought. That makes it harder to quit. Of coarse $15 a can makes it easier to quit.

2010 started off great then in the summer it all went to the pooper for me, but got better in September.
Being an RC Racer has it's ups and downs.[&:]

Summer 2010:
I wont mention names because people around here like thier privacy.
Guys at the other RC track up north started talking to another track in Albion IL then they ended up closing the doors.
I have no idea what was said, but it couldnt have been much worse for me. [&o]
Whats worse they announced it right around the time they was gonna start up again.
The one track I drove my 4wd 1/10 electric buggies at closed.
I guess my plaques on the wall are collectors items...[:-]
Shortly after that one closed another track closed down south in Tennessee also shut the doors.
I think it was called White House or something,
never been there myself, because they raced mostly nitro 1/8th.
But the White house people were and still are respected individuals.
It's starting to hit me all at once, The bad Economy also caused these 2 tracks to close down.
I think people quit and stopped showing up at these 2 tracks causing them to close the doors, that
and everything else in between.

August-September-October:
I started racing Oval at a new outdoor track that appeared outa nowhere,
Collinsville Raceway in Nortonville opened up.
People around here started going and was able to carpool with a freind of mine for a few weeks.
That same track is building an indoor track as I type this, so that gives me another option for track choices.
(one pic of that huge outdoor track is below)

2011 is the year I return to Madisonville,
A track I have not been to in a long time last time I raced there was Feb 2010.
They have started onroad roadcourse touring cars on thier carpet track.
Something that should have happened a long time ago.
They planned a race there Jan 1st this Saturday and Im going back there.
They have also started oval on the same track, sliders and other vechiles.
Got a full set of Jaco Nitro Shoes for Xmas so I can hopefully make a comeback and start over.

So anyone else have any cool stories from 2010 to share?

I quit smoking cold turkey after a xx years.

The physical addiction is 14 days. Once you pass that, it is all mental.

I bought some hard candy (cinnamon disks for example) and every time I wanted a cigarette, I just put one of those in my mouth and thought of something else - substitution is the key.

Avoid alcohol until you know that you will not start smoking again.

I need to quite smoking, other than that I wanna get another quad and a new gun or two in 2011, gonna join the USPSA pistol shooters club for another weekend distraction/hobby for them weekends when I can't coordinate any rc bashing or atv riding. Also gonna actually go to the casino for some poker tournaments instead of just home cash games.

On a personal note smoking without brushing your teeth is dangerous to your health.
The decayed tooth can actually kill you believe it or not, it poisons your body and you can die.
Smoking without brushing my teeth costed me big time. I have 3 teeth that are decayed above the gum line.
I have been brushing my teeth and using listerine 2 times a day and the doctor prescribed me
an antibotic pills that I have to take 3 times a day. The doctor told me I could have died if I didnt
approach him. Glad I did now....And Ive been brushing regularly since then and no other
tooth is rotten.. sorry to share this story but it's the truth..BRUSH YOUR TEETH

NOW I HAVE TO GET THESE 3 TEETH FILLED THIS YEAR.
The doctor thankfully said I can get them filled, It could have been alot worse and I would have lost my teeth.

Quittin smokin is on the list, but not likely.

Last years was "I'm not going to yell at my boss anymore" and I did pretty well sticking to it.
This year he's still incompetent, so I'm reverting back to yelling at every idiot I have to deal with at work.
Doing pretty well this week, looking into a new shirt to wear at work...

Either the buisiness will flourish, or I'll get fired.

I have a few or more.
Lose about 25lbs.
Get in a little bit better shape so I can get off of the beta blockers (blood pressure lowering meds).
Be able to start culinary arts school;wow this should really help me loose weight.
