Default Need help/opinion for car purchase...

Down the road from my house is a 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo for sale. interior and exterior is in prestine condition, it has a new cd player. its got the 4.0 straight 6 cylinder. But it has 170,000 miles. I do know these engines are known for longevity if taken care of. He wants $1500 for it. Is this a good deal? Please help i need a SUV lol.

That is a damn good deal if it is mechanically sound. Remember, not only the engine has 170k on it, the entire car does. So listen for suspension clunking, wheel bearings, tranny noises, and anything out of the ordinary when you are testing it out. I have had a few Cherokees, they are pretty good cars, and run forever.

I'm not sure how the underneath is, but from looking at the exterior, i'd say it cant be in that bad of shape, hell the rockers dont have a spot of rust. the owner says everything works great with no problems. i just gotta find out if he is religious about oil every 3k miles and regular lube and maintainence. thats the only way they last long. and i'll see if he hammers on it during the winter after starting it (cold starts). if all is 100% good it sounds like a good deal.
