So who here plays guitar?
I just picked up a New Dean Vendetta electric guitar the other day looking to learn to play. I got it for like 60% off retail price cause it was damaged in shipping(clear coat was chipped near the jack), and the place couldn't sell it as new
Already trying to find a cheap warlock due to how damn cool they look
Also fixing a Fender Starcaster for my nephew so he can learn (its volume pot was busted, just ordered it today) that was picked up dirt cheap($45 with an amp and bag). Other than that its basically in perfect shape
So who here plays and what do ya own?

RE: So who here plays guitar?
Been playing for about 12 years now, off and on for the past few after a bad breakup with my last band.
Guitars:
An Original Ovation Thunderhead (i think it is like 1957 or 58)
Epiphone SG (didn't have enough money for the Gibson.
Cheap Fender Acoustic like the $99 dollar starter guitar.
Amp is a 1950 Guild - 50 watts of just clean tube sound.
also a Mid 90s Peavey Bandit 112. Decent tone.
Effects - Boss GT-8. Pretty much everything I would ever / never need.
Good luck with learning - lots of fun and it doesn't end!

RE: So who here plays guitar?
Somewhere along the 9 year mark.
Currently IBanez RG120 ($70) w/ Peavey TransTube EFX Amp ($50 dam near new condition)
Couple of Behringer pedals(cheap boss knock off)
Have another IBanez and a Yamaha bass (my girlfriend bought 3 years ago to learn and has only touched it twice).
I need to sit down and just learn this s*_* but cant remember a dam thing.

RE: So who here plays guitar?
Holy smokes this one "junk" guitar I've had laying around for a few years I found out is a Harmony H19 from the 60's. I say junk cause that is what everyone told me that seen it they all thought it was some cheap knockoff.
Too bad I can't keep it as a vintage item, but I'm guessing it was the previous owner that modified it where it can't be restored . They cut slits in the guitar to hold pickups that screw under the pick guard where pictures of the originals I can find show they were screwed in on top. Rest of the parts seem stock though. I had to repair the neck cause it had a split I pried it open a little, and filled it with wood glue then zip-tied it tight to dry. Now you can't even see where the crack was and its on strong.
Think I'll try and fix it up, repaint it(trying to mimic the original finish cause its REALLY beat up), and use as is

RE: So who here plays guitar?
I don't really know how to play it, but I do have one. It's a really cheesy Gibson-Baldwin learning model, I think I paid $30 for it a few years ago and it typically retailed for under $100. It was so cheap I bought two of them, and gave one to a friend of mine who has been playing for 15 or 20 years. His ex-wife took all his guitars (and everything but his clothes) during the divorce, and though he's since rebuilt his collection with more expensive guitars, the cheap learner I bought him is the one he plays the most.
It has a really raw, harsh, cheap sound no matter what amp it is paired with. Speaking of which it came with an equally cheap amp which makes it sound even more crude. But that sound makes it unique among my friends other more expensive guitars, and that's why he likes it.

Can't beat my tuner for cheap I downloaded a $2 app on my Nintendo 3DS (also available for the DSI) that is pretty spot on for accuracy (as compared it to my sisters $60 Korg tuner/metronome)

RE: So who here plays guitar?
been playing for about 30 years or so its a great way to release tension and express thoughts and such . started out with a harmony 3/4 scale then a danelectro the fender musicman (low end single coil single pickup)
then strat, lespaul till my shoulder got tired of holding it up and the list goes on and on but currently own only 1.. a bc warlock to me it plays like no other its not the neck thru body tho so its not worth alot but feels like home to me ) cool thread to i didn't realize that many fellow rc'ers played as well
