The guys been captured and escaped numerous times. With that much money, it's easy to corrupt the correctional officers. Either that or through threats to family members and such.

Looks like the Mexicans are more than happy to hand him over to us, we have various indictments waiting for him. He;ll be in ADX Florence with Zacharias Moussaoui before he knows it.

I love the Sean Penn drama around the whole thing. Guzman makes it seem like he's some poor helpless farmer who just needs to export tons of drugs to put food on the table.

Yeah, well his influence won't reach as far if he's in US Federal custody. This is becoming a joke, he's gotta just get locked up and stay there. Not that it's going to slow down the drug trade, but we've gotta start somewhere. He's become a poster child for how incompetent and corrupt the Mexican authorities are. Not that our border security is doing a great job by any stretch either. Problem is the demand is so great and the monetary rewards are so high that people are willing to do anything to get into the industry. Weapons, Energy, Agriculture, and Drugs (illegal and legal) are the biggest money makers on earth.
