Welcome back!!

Welcome back!!
Dunno what I'm going to do about the Brat. I miss it terribly, as it was my first real RC, I bashed it SO hard and loved every second of it. I blame my poor assembly skills (overtightened screws, spilled threadlocker, etc) on the early demise, as time itself has proven the Frog/Brat space frame to be a well built machine. But when you launch it off an 8 foot half pipe, and the front wheels are messed up so it veers to the side at the last second, and then comes down on asphalt... Well you can imagine what the end result is. [X(] Too bad Tower has jacked up the price, it was pushing $200 when I last priced a replacement, compared to the $150 I spent before coupons just over a year ago.
It lives on though! I took the electronics, motor, bearings, and the pinion out and put them in my Grasshopper. I spent the summer alternating between the Dark Impact and Grasshopper, with shorter TB-02 sessions, and I actually like the Grasshopper better. [&:] With a 540 installed, the handling is so wildly unpredictable, whereas with a steady hand and eye the DI will land nearly the same way every single time. That's great for a competitive environment, and cool for a while, but eventually it gets a little stale.
Took them both camping back in October with a bunch of my friends. The friend who reserved the campsite neglected to inform us that it was "family week" and thus the campground was overun with kids. I kept getting an audience when all we wanted to do was jump the DI and Grasshopper over this exposed root over and over again while drinking beer. [&:] I'm sure we were the nightmare of parents that weekend, with kids continually screaming "COOL! I WANT ONE!" Best kid comment of the weekend, regarding the TB-02: "I have one like that... Only mine is WAY faster."

That and there's no nuclear arms race with my friends over who has the fastest RC... aside from some old, broken Mini Z cars, still none of my friends have RCs. Kinda puts a damper on the whole "let's race" thing. [&:] At least i've saved money.

RE: THE LOUNGE 2
Ok I am changing this depressing subject NOW.
For those of you who don't know me I like 90's American muscle cars. I have a list of 4 cars I would like in my garage by time I am 40-50. I have listed the 4 and the price I will get it for. Discuss and criticize my list.
UK guys, I won't value your opinion too much as we have a different taste and style over here.
Lincoln Mark VIII (got it for $1,700) - DOHC V8
1995 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe (buying next winter 2-3k) - Supercharged V6
2003-2004 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT (10-20k depending when I get around to it) - Supercharged DOHC V8
1994-1998 Dodge Viper (15k now, 10k when I get around to it) - Dodge V10
I hope to have all 4 cars and be able to drive whatever I feel like to work that day.
Hopefully we won't be forced to drive electric cars in 20 years. I plan on driving old cars like these all my life and doing all the maintenance myself, new crate engines can be had for 3-6k and can really revive a car if I need it.
Let the flaming begin [sm=bananahead.gif]

Cool list, actually. I used to be against Ford and Mustangs for some reason, but I really like their styling now (and their interiors have improved...my buddy had a 96 Mustang, and a road trip in that thing was uncomfortable as heck).
If you ever plan on getting married, either find someone who likes muscle cars, or get 'em before you get her.
I should come up with a "wish list" too of some older cars. Neat stuff.

As long as the EPA doesn't change the laws to make it impossible to pass the emissions testing you shouldn't have any problems at all.
We won't see the replacement of gasoline powered cars with electric powered cars in our lifetime. There has been cars running on propane for 25+ years now.
