Yeah, the long rumored "BlueDevil" or whatever code name that they were using before.. but yeah, from all sources, seems like they are going to bring back the ZR-1 name... (last appeared in the early 90s C4 Vette, I think..)

Yeah, I love all these horsepower war.. it is great to the consumers.. ha! Now everyone got something like in the 500hps range.. Nissan got the GT-R, BMW got the V-10 M5/M6, Mercedes got the big AMGs, Vette (even the "regular" Z06 is 505hps!), Viper, Porsche got the new GT2, etc.

Good time to be a car fan!!
I remember some years ago, before Subaru was known for rally cars, they were involved in the creation of a flat 12 engine. It didn't work out though, but just the thought of it still makes me smile for some reason.

Found a picture of it, along with some facts: http://www.iwoc.co.uk/subf1.html

Ha not bad, interesting how engines have evolved as we can now get that output out of a naturally aspirated V8 nowadays.

What's the most exotic car you guys have been in, either drove or ridden in ?

mine is the Lamborghini Countach
I rode in a DeLorean once. Unfortunately time travel was not involved. I've also been in dozens of Mercedes Benz vehicles of various trim and performance levels.

I'm boring though myself, the coolest car I've ever driven was a relatively tame Subaru WRX STi. [8D]

has anyone got any of these?

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...oducts_id=7507

if so, how do they grip off-road?, on gravel, or wet grass, dirt tracks or mud?
Wow, at first glance I thought those were a low profile version of the old school Sand Blaster 915s. Nice and blocky though, based on looks alone I'd buy them.

Its a treasure to me, so dont laugh at it, YOU HAVE NOT RACED AT ALL!!
My current wins and losses are 13-6....yes 13 victories and the begining of 2007's April season I got another first place.

Hunter / Jim - I measured my Pede rear shock (XX Long, big bore alum), it's about 4" from eyelet to eyelet, or just under 4.5" overall. Maybe 4 3/8 (tip to tip)?

Dude, it was 0 out driving to work today. Zero! And that's without any of that wind chill business.

It's now officially "nose hair freezing" weather in Chicagoland.

Hahah, I did some more ebay browsing... It looks like you can get another Baja 'Clone' on ebay now.

If you search the term 'BAJA 5X' you'll find an EXACT replica of the HPI Baja 5b now. NEW Price is about 600 dollars, shipped out of Hong Kong.

The Tires even have the 'Dirtbuster' (an hpi name/logo) emblazoned on the side of them. Speculation is that these are essentially 'grey market' bajas... Made in the same factory as the original, without the logo stuck on the side.

Crazy! But, might be an inexpensive alternative.

The Baja 5X looks like the HPI stuff, huh?! LOL!

I think the real HPI Baja is from Taiwan, though.... (remember the pic of the box I posted that has the Blizzard inside? It was like "Made in Taiwan", and Baja 5SS logo on it and stuff..)

This is from Hong Kong.. so probably a "real" knock off?! (as opposed to from the factory that made it?)

Would seem to be silly to send from Taiwan to Hong Kong and then ship out to the custom? But then maybe not so crazy if that's the only way.. (hard to get knock off stuff in Taiwan for years now, not even CDs, etc.)

$600 + $120 shipping.. nah, I will get my SS w/ upgrades and bigger engine for $800s from Tower...

The Traxxas Big-Bores are extremely smooth. Definitely a Traxxas product worth it's price.

The shafts are coated too, and the bodies seem pretty solid. Biggest complaint is the Thread at the top (where the cap screws on) it's a bit rough, but I've not had any issues with leaky shocks.

I'd recommend them if you had to get a maxx sized shock over the integy piggy backs.

I like the big bores I have on the stampede...err, until I broke one of 'em anyway. Much better than the stock cheapo plastic ones (which I still don't know why the VXL products still ship with...but whatever).

The big bore has aluminum body, right?

Too bad that it is not threaded!! Easier to adjust preload this way!!
