went to the LHS today, and saw this sitting on a shelf. had to snap a pic for LB, but now i'm wishing i'd taken a wider shot (with a better camera!) because it was literally surrounded by Traxxas stickers.

Ha yeah, if you are 5 or 50 they are all going to recommend a rustler, and everything else sucks to them, I really like the people who have only driven a rustler and keep saying how it can be raced in stock form and keep up with all the legit race trucks.
So my next kit has come down to the following, people can chime in with recommendations, but there is no use comparing the two so it really is just a matter of my preference. Racing F-150, Hotshot re re, Dark Impact.

you could ask what truck or car would be good for a 5 year old child.. and they would recommend the rusty or similar
you could ask what watercraft would be best... they would recommend a rustler with paddles on the rear and skis up front..
doesnt matter the question they will find a way to say traxxas is best for that application my favorite are the new revo fanboys.. a truggy in an mt class and their impressed.. or suprised that it won.. i mean cmon now

after that i went up to the counter and asked about some more parts for my Brat, random broken stuff. the guy behind the counter pulls out this big, battered 3 ring binder. inside are the manuals and part listings for dozens of classic Tamiyas. you name it, it was in there. even as worn as they were, i'm sure the collection was worth some serious $$$ as the manuals were all originals, not re-res. however, the Brat and Frog manuals were mysteriously absent from the book. [:@] so i couldn't order my parts.

Aww man, It's time to renew my Tower Super Saver Club thingy, it expired a couple weeks ago and I was going to make an order hehe...
Hopefully I can still get it for 15 bucks.[8D]
But on another note, I was paid 50 dollars today to fix a pullstart on a Savage 21 LOL.

LB, You've got a Wild One? Got any pics?
I'm feeling I'm gonna need a SRB at sometime, a Sand Scorcher or a Super Champ maybe. But they have crazy prices.

RE: THE LOUNGE 2
Tamiya SRB (Special Racing Buggy) series.
Their early 80's design is famous for its fibre glass chassis with rear torsion bars and front hairpin springs, using lots of metal parts.
The first was the Rough Rider, followed by the Sand Scorcher and Ford Ranger F-150 XLT. The Super Champ was the only Tamiya model to include a feature called F.F.P.D.S. (Free Floating Progressive Dampening System). This consisted of an on board oil bottle to constantly supply oil to a large rear shock absorber, which helped maintain both pressure and lubrication in the shock through hard use. Though adding weight to the car, it worked well, and Tamiya even registered a patent for the system. (www.wikipedia.de)

The 959 is a sweet ride even being 20+ years old.
I may browse Ebay see if I can find one?
