does any-one know how to make a home-made energy (sports) drink?,
which i can use when i am biking, to keep my energy up
Your best bet is eating a healthy diet, not an energy drink. Try having a higher amount of complex carbs in order to give you longer lasting energy. Sports drinks replenish the electrolytes lost during sweat, but do not do much along the energy lines.

True - no worry of the battery running out either...

ORIGINAL: Lunchboxer

I think those are probably better than the $7 digital caliper... those I just worry the electronics will stop working one day for no reason...

ORIGINAL: Eman77

I see a dial caliper, and a fractional dial caliper:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=5658
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=92437
The one I got came with an extra battery.

Man, I didn't realize there was such scrutiny for 'Digital' calipers.

Hahah, I suppose so.
It's alright, have compared these to my brothers Digital Mitutoyo set (same size, similar configuration) and they seem good enough to produce usable results.

I didn't see any discrepancies between the two. The Mitutoyo's cost over 100 bux.

Dug up a picture of the 'SB Pro' for you, looks pretty good. Nice flashy paint work too.

Sugar is a poor choice, as you end up crashing a bit after it wears off. Not worth it IMO.

I say just bring water to hydrate, get good solid sleep the night before, and have at it! It's not like you're in a competition/event, and need the highest possible performance you can get.

ok, so just a water bottle, thats what i do at the moment, but in this weather (rain), i end up using most of it on the cassette and deraillers to clean them
