Bennie - Great shot of the bat break - Getting the right picture of the right instant is no easy task (nit like they break bats all night).
Guessing that level of sharpness in mixed lighting has a lot to do with what you have hanging off the front of that camera too [sm=tongue_smile.gif]

GaGeeBees - I like that night shot most of all. Nice work

i love pictures, unfortunately i only have a $5 garage-sale 2megapixle[&o] and i live in the boring state of Illinois.

one of the most beautiful pictures you can take, is the rolling hills of Ireland, so peaceful and simple, some completely untouched by man, comfortibly cool and sunny...

-UGH- I have to retype this cuase rcu database issues...

So when choosing flim speed/ISO i know that 400 speed in bright sunlight will yeild graining photos. But happens when you shoot like 100 speed in low light? Will the pic just be clear just take a longer shutter speed to compensate for the lower flim speed?

The higher the ISO rating for film, the grainier the results. I used to shoot 25 ISO Kodachrome slide film. It was ultimate in fine grain. Generally I only used 400 and higher when I knew I'd be shooting in low light and slower shutter speeds weren't an option.

ok. thanks.

Here another question. If i want to do a ghost image. Shouldnt i use the light meter to find the right settings. For example F8 at 1/60 of a second. So to make a ghost image shouldnt i just set it to shoot two pics on teh same frame but on the second shot move the object out of the fram and have the camera set at F8 1/30 of a second each? Cuase i tried something like that but it did not work. The pic was overexposed.[:@]

you could also consider setting the cammera to "bold mode" (film) and leaving it there for a LONG time in total darkness, you have your first object (ghost) in there, then you turn a flash on it for a fraction of a second, then, you move in the other object and photograph it for the recomended time (on flash...) and then develop, this method should result in what you are after[8D]

Hey to get a clear crisp pic like this one in daytime how big of a apautre open will i need? Would a f 4 to 5.6 lens work? Or would that be to slow to capture something like this on my local track. Cause i really wnat to stop the motion and even get indviual grains of sand. Just like in this pic. Also i think my lens budget will be about 300 on most likely a nikon d40. So if you have any recomendations let me know.

For the record this is one of Tigger N. Bennie photos that i really liked and kept on my computer.

slurp, you're picture of the Epcot sign inspired me to post this one. I took like 40 images of that thing from across the lake as the sun went down, and just one came out cool.

It's there, but for whatever reason my web site is on sleepy mode. Some of the pictures I post here require that the page be refreshed before it loads. I may have to get hold of Network Solutions and throw a pound of bacon at them [X(]
