your first electric shaver
i'm at that age (16) where i've had the adalesent (sp?) 'stache for a year or 2, the small patch of hair popped up under my lip and i am beginning to grow muttinchops (sp?). so today i decided it was time to start shaving, and i decided that i was going to skip the razor and go streight to the electric shaver. i went to the store today and picked up a remington r3130 because it was $27 on sale. i was wondering when y'all started shaving and when (if ever) you got your first electric shaver.

Shaved my legs for the first time with a Lady Remington in '79. Now I just use a blade.

RE: your first electric shaver
Started at about 14 years old and still can't grow a decent tach or beard....genes I guess. I've used both and the best I've found are the non-electric variety. If you compare the cut of a whisker under a micro scope you'll see a massive difference between a razor cut and an electric cut.
The electric razor blade only penetrates the whisker about 2/3rd of the way through the stalk, then simply TEARS the rest of it off. You can notice this just by feeling your beard after a shave. There's a slight roughness to it.
A good clean razor on the other hand slices clean through the stalk, however, it's that closenss that can cause a shaving irritation on your skin.
Gillette Mach III blades, plenty of soaking in a hot shower to open the pores and soften the beard, a good couple of minutes to soak with the shaving gell on and plenty of rinsing in really hot water to clean the blades out between swipes.
That's how I've been doing it for as long as I can remember. Luckily, my job doesn't require me to be suited and booted, so I can get away with letting my stuble grow for a week, then shave once on the weekend. Keeps the skin irritation down as well. And like I said earlier, my beard doesn't grow that thick or fast anyway.
BTW, isn't this something you should be discussing with your dad, uncle or grandpa?
And because you put a question mark behind the spelling, here are the corrected ones: Adolescent or Adolescence and Mutton Chops

RE: your first electric shaver
I had facial hair early in life long before even my oldest brother that still can not grow a beard, But I am one that got up one morning and said I am tired up shaving and have a full beard for now! tried an electric razor once and felt like the face was on fire. So when If start shaving again it will be razors!

RE: your first electric shaver
I started shaving around mid 13. I hit puberty uber early and it sucked having 'peach fuzz' on my upper lip, especially when I didn't shave for two weeks and I looked like I had one of those skinny mustaches some mexicans have Lol. I'll be 16 in two weeks and I have a full goatee (well had, I trimmed it a little short friday night) I dont mind it now, especially when I can pass for 18. Kinda funny going to the movies with a bunch of freinds and have to buy their tickets for em so they can get in...even know they are older.
