I've got witnesses! LOL
I've been flying my 2nd SlowStick for about a month or two now...stock 300 with 1100mah 8-cell, etc with moderate yet satisfactory performance. Wouldn't climb very high and found myself getting bored....even with making parachute drops and paper airplane launches. I had a little money burning a hole in my pocket so I went to the hobby shop and bought an Elite Park 400 and a Jeti Esc (red wrapper). Then cropped the wings for good measure... Also put on a 1180 prop. The Park 400 brushless is in the gearbox from the 300...
This thing turned into a rocket! I took it out to the park with many other RC pilots and it got many favorable reviews...especially from fellow SlowStick pilots! The turns we're beautiful and would snap out of a half-loop or an inverted-s wonderfully. Got to fiddling with inverted flight and was able to sustain it for 10-15 seconds at a time. Took full down elevator and a nimble right thumb, but it would do it! But with this new motor I was able to pull a complete inverted loop! It wasn't a smooth loop...but a loop none-the-less. LOL
My next purchase is going to definitely be li-po's and a charger....I'm excited to think what I can do with it then!
Thanks...just felt an overpowering need to share this.

Awtoo,
Woulda loved to see that!
In the RCU review movie of the SS it looks so slow and underpowered. I guess you changed that!

Wow, mine would get pretty wierd when I tried that stock. I wonder if it may have something to do with the altitude. I'm at about 5300' up here in Albuquerque. What battery pack were you using?

will it go vertically up 90 degrees unlimited with the Park 400? How long are your flight times and what batteries did you use? how many amps your Jeti is running?

It won't go 90 degrees straight up...that's due in part to the heavy 1100 nmh battery and that I'm also a mile above sea level. I have the Jeti 8...not sure what the amps for this ESC is. I was getting 20+ minutes depending on how crazy I was flying I have this setup now with a 3-cell Kokam 1500 lipoly and it pulls my TigerMoth 400 straight up with authority.

I did the same with an axi and it flew pretty well, Allthough I reckon it,s a better optiion to stick to stock and use lipoly batteries.
I used the etec 2400 and I get bored with the flight times being so long.
Here are the vids

I reckon that there is still loads of go in the thing even only putting through 7.4 volts.

people if you put li polys in a slow stick of course it can do inverted loops i can hover the thing stock well into thwe wind slightly so a small harrier but still it can very easily do inverted loops i dont know what the big deal is/ i do hammer heads loops l=inverted loops and rolls( had to ebe pretty high up for that one)

Read back up a little bit. I'm at a mile up. Full scale acrobatic pilots do their stunts very low due to the thinner atmosphere up here. I have flown with several slowstick pilots out here and they will agree that a smooth inverted loop is something to be proud of up here...(hang on...need to put on my oxygen again)
