Doug
First, I had the P-51 not the spit ( AK Models) SSOO I wouldn't recommend using my CG, I know many others on RCGroups have that plane, you may be able to find it by searching ( Sorry).
The Batteries
They both have the same capacity so you can run then BUT!!! the weakest link is the 10C so if in series 10C is the MAX current you can draw (15 Amps), in parallel 10C is max (30 Amps).
Hope it helps
Brent

OOOHHH DOH
2.25 to 2.75 inch. I used 2.40 inch from leading edge of the wing, and it flew fine, because it flew well and was very light I didn't mess with it.
Have fun

Lou,
OK I'm excited, the parts for my turbo diesel motor (450F) came in today. 4 spare motor shafts, and a higher torque lower RPM bell. It has 12 magnets in the bell as opposed to 6 that were in the original. Drops the motor down from 3800 kv to 2200 kv. Less chance of toasting something and I can run bigger props now, which is good cause then I can use some of the folding props that I found out were too big for that motor. Already have the new bell snapped into place. Also since I've figured out how to get that 4000 mah battery to get fully charged I wanna see how long I can really keep that monster in the air. I'll hafta give it a fly tomorrow. See how it runs with a 7x3 or a 7x 4. Especially since I can't work on finishing the chimney for the wood stove. I guess I'm not the only one wanting to beat the heating bill this winter, everyone is out of the darn chimney pipe. I'm gonna hafta pre-order some I guess. Only need another 8 ft and 6 locking bands then I can get-r-done.

Thought I might throw in a quess, too. Brent, you and your brother are there and see everything and saw everything at the time it happened, so you have the better chance of being right and I am not knocking that. Just a point to look at, if not already done so. Most all mechanical failures occur when something changes in their environment. An engine failure on an airplane almost always occurs at throttle up or throttle down. This causes stress on some component that was not there during the cruise run. Holding an elevator level will probable not be when failure occurs. Pull up or push down is where it is most likely to occur. It is possible that when you pushed down (to make it go up) the tremendous forces that motor and prop were putting on that wooden stick, were suddenly transfered to angular forces on the stick causing it to give way. That, in turn, would allow the motor to "walk" up the fuse on its way out! Just a thought. May mean nothing.

Ok boys,
Here's the video of my Omei maiden, all 28 seconds of it
As you'll see the CG was way off and it flew tail heavy.
See if you could catch the tip stall and the end.
Adjusted the CG today which is 2 1/8" with my stock setup. I had 2 great flights today and performed loops and Spilt-Ss.
Wings didn't fold (yet).![Smile](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Take care,

Last ones.
Sticks. The dog was right where you now see him when the Omei bit the big one. I tried to blame him but Hazy ratted me out.
Omei wing length is 75 inches. Slightly larger than the dog.

It wouldn't be Ray Ray without some "banter" so here's a recap of the Omei maiden.
Correction, I meant to say "I couldn't turn left (when she went into the death spiral).

Omeiwon Kanobe, where are ya?
Enjoy,
Ray Ray

Lou, I showed Liz the pics of your omie laying all broken & battered. First thing she says, "honey, your plane has never looked that bad" I didn't point out the fact that you can plow the badius into a semi & break out the packing tape versus the omie where a crash almost instantly equals firewood. I just sat there & said, yep, that's lou for ya, if he's not lookin for dog poo to land in then he's seeing what it will take to make a plane break apart in mid air. ![Big Grin](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Hey, how's the Vector coming along?? The more I look at it, the more I want one. OK, the more I look at any plane the more I want a second plane, even if it is made out of duct tape & bailing wire. I showed Liz the Vector & gave her my best puppy dog look, "honey, Christmas?" One could hope. Oh well, for now I do have the Baddy-ass with the diesel back in it. Plus, I'm curious to see what it will do when I put the glassed wings on. Couldn't work on the plane today, had to take Gabby out trick or treating. Yep, I have candy, or I mean Gabby has lots of candy.

Blisters,
The worst part about my Omei is that I thought I did all that could be done to strengthen it. I read all the threads on RCgroups and listened to everyone else one it. Didn't matter. Mine just wasn't a good one. RR's seems to be a good one. Mine wouldn't have taken a hit like his. Carbon fiber reinforcement in my Omei broke like toothpicks. And there was a lot of it. The carbon sheeting at the wing joints is 2 mil. Torn at both ends. Destruction appears unavoidable. Hells bells. I didn't even hit anything.
The Turbo Vecter is next up. I'm hoping that the brushless motor will make it scream. Or maybe just fly better than stock. Dunno.

Ken Blisters,
Lou's absolutely right. Just look at my video. It was fixed in less than 1/2 hour with CA. Wings parted right at the joint. Lucky I guess.

Good looking video, Tailwind. I could see the stall. Why did you keep the nose up so much? It looked like you were trying to climb too fast and loosing all your airspeed.
