Lou,
Inquiring minds want to know....
Why did Blisters place the bearing in the mounting hole?
Why is there cocaine in the bag next to the 450F motor?
I think I see why there is a problem here.

I'm calling Detective Diggity. We got a live one here boys.
Digg - run a check on one Kenith Taylor aka "Blisters" in the Rock Island section of IL.
Bring the mousepad in for residue screening.

RE: The Badius Owners Club
LOL I knew I could count on you two dorks for some humor out of this situation.
On a serious note, is the friggin front bearing supposed to come out like that while in mid flight? I only had it running a little over 1/2 throttle at the time. It was my third flight though. Kinda windy today, but the plane handled it really well, especially with my turbo diesel. I went through my 1250 mah battery first, actually i didn't use the full charge on it, after about 10-15 minutes flying & screwing around i thought it might be a good idea to check & see if anything was hot since I'd been running it a little hard,, ( ok so I was beating the living crap outta the thing, loops, pirrouette, top of the loop wing rolls with the wind pushing it, half loops, i was alll over my little piece of sky) everything was fine, figured i'd put my 200 mah batt in, no problems there, big fun, ( more crazy sh*t, grass skimmers, power line under passes, play chicken with myself since i always win the plane veers away before I move, fun day) went to the big heavy beasty of burden battery, the 4000 mah batt that I got from ebay. I think it's only a 10C battery, the other two batteries will let me hit WOT without any problems, if I try it with the big beastie, I get that motor surge thing that Brent told me was either due to undersized ESC or too low of batt discharge rate. That battery weighs a ton, I actually have to tape a quarter to one side of my tail fin and a nickle to the other to balance the c.g. I can actually get bored flying with that one cause it's so heavy I don't wanna do anything that's gonna pull any g's , but I still will fly with it since by that time I'm still wanting more play time.
So, I have the plane up to around 100 ft, maybe lower. The diesel has been humming along nicely, I can hear that lovely brushless whine, doing passes where I bring the plane into the wind towards myself, get close then let the wind shove it around & back to the end of the field, just goofin with the wind. On the last pass like that, just as I'm about to let the wind take it, the motor suddenly goes from whine to, wacka wacka wacka, Kill power, I had to circle the feild twice to get it down to the ground. I disconnect the battery and touch everything, nothing, Imean, nothing . is warm. I notice the prop flopping around. Hell the whole durn shaft, what the?????????? OK, done flying for the day. Bring the bird home, wait until Liz goes to work to examine the plane. ( Of course I do not tell her that on my first day of flying with my repaired motor I managed to have it come apart already.) She did ask if I crashed, nope, no crashes, only landings that had 1/2 mile friggin glide paths, this thing can really float when it's in ground effect.
SO, it appears that the bearing simply decided it didn't want to stay put, it seems to be fine, I put it back together, ran it up, sounds just lovely, no weird vibrations,, BUT i can pop the bearing out now if I put the motor shaft in at a funny angle.
Should I use a small amount of Loc-tite on the outer race of the bearing?

If there is a Rock Island. Sounds like baggies and maybe a pipe or two and you can have your own Rock Island. Hey Digg. Check the mouse pad for residue.

"Powder",
Sounds like you got a bad motor. Call the "dealer" and arrange to send it back. Bearings shouldn't fall out like that.
I wouldn't tinker with it or you'll violate the warrant, um I meant warranty.
Geez, you typed all of that in 30 seconds!!!! Practice these words, "Not guilty, your Honor".
Doc, call in the dogs.

Hey Blisters,
Really, Haze wants that number.
Don't use the green locktite. It'll never come apart again. Use the other color that is removable. Nice flights for a druggie.

I may have wet myself on that one [sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif]
You guys are outta control tonight. Do you realize you blew away the "reply" button on your last post.

RE: The Badius Owners Club
Took me a sec for my mind to clear and figure out that you think that the rply button is not on the page, but if you hold still, and stare right at the middle of the screen you can see it, hiding there, at the corner of your eye, saying " Come on, Reply, you dirty mutha, I dare ya, come on man, ya chicken? You ain't so tough, sniiiiiiif, come on, just try it" Then when you look, it's like the feds man, they're gone, hiding again before you can see them man, that's why I'm building the baggie plane, with the brushless, man, with the super light weight of the baggie, and that you can see through it, with the quiet brushless motor, and a 3 cell li-po, I'll be able to sneak up on them, they won't be able to hide then, I'll get that reply button and those feds man,, but first ya gotta tell me where the servo's go. I'm thinking about using the pop can as an under cover vehicle.

Hi All,
RR & Lou, LMFAO!!!
Yeah! No Mercy! Haul him in and confiscate ALL the evidence boys!!
Blisters, Man you are a trip!!!
Sticks,.. That is a pretty cool idea. Can't wait to see the video.
Question for you (or anyone else)! I did some bench testing tonight with my SD Cub. Do you have any idea what the loading difference is, say between stationary loading versus in flight loading percentage wise?
My equipment is a Esskay400XT, CoolRunning 12A ESC, and a 8x4 Prop.
Using a 2 Cell, 1500, mAh 7.4v Lipo, I’m getting the following:
Amp Peak = 6.4
VoltageMax = 7.9
Watts Peak =33.3
Total run time was 24 minutes @ WOT
Then using a 3 Cell 1500, mAh 11.1v Lipo, I’m getting the following:
Amp Peak = 7.55
VoltageMax = 12.1
Watts Peak =86.5
Total run time was 20 minutes @ WOT
How much do you think the amp draw will drop in flight? And with that guess, what increased flight time do you think I can expect?

Wingnut, that's one of those things that's not easy to figure. It is different for different planes, motors, prop types, etc. You can actually have a situation where amps might increase somewhat! You are better off just assuming the static readings you are getting. Probably throw in a tiny bit of loading.
Thanks. I posted the idea before. A couple weeks ago, I think. I put up photos of the carriage and said I needed to toughen it up a little. I did that two days ago and got the chance to try it today! I could just scream for leaving the camcorder at the house![:@][:@][:@]

Wingnut,
I know the amp draw is less in the air, by how much I don't know. Some say 10% less. Not sure.
Careful when conducting those bench tests at WOT. Last time I did that I snapped a prop cover [:@]
