I would not change the Dihedral if you are going to fly 3 channel (rudder only). If you flatten out the wing you will need to install ailerons. Otherwise the aircraft will not turn properly, and your performance will suffer greatly.

While I haven't checked in a while I believe that the CG on the SCLP is aprox. 2.5 inches from the leading edge of the wing.

I personally think that the SCLP flys very well on three channels without ailerons. I have seen a clipped wing SCLPfly with ailerons and very little dihedral and it flew great. So I think it depends on what you want to do.If you enjoy relaxing flying then leave it alone, maybe just up-grade the motor. If you want full aerobatics then it gets very subjective. Just adding ailerons will not turn it intoa Pitts Special. It will roll but not like a stunt plane. Shorter flatter wing with a spar seems to be the answer to making the cub aerobatic. That's why the clipped wing version of the full scale aircraft is popular for that kind of flying.

But hey, I'm no expert so don't stop asking questions. Lots of good information out there....ya just gotta keep looking.

Does anyone know the right size for the screws for the rudder/elevator?  My daughter got a hold of them and now there gone.

Well I'm blaming her, because I probably hid them from myself...

Thanks!

Sensor Question:
On a Hobbyzone SC LP do the 2 sensors for the ACT have to be connected to the receiver for the esc section to work? The elevator and rudder servos function ok but have no throttle function. Any ideas or is the receiver/esc unit pooched?..... Thank you in advance.... Harold

I disconnected mine and it flew fine for the longest time.

Make sure, of course, that the switch is not toggled on the remote.

Have you tried a different battery?  If the batter is dying, throttle will not work, but you can still glide it.  I took mine up so high once that it was a dot in the sky for about 20 minutes, gliding around with the throttle off, then I brought it dead stick.

Should work fine without ATC connected. I pulled mine out early. If you don't have it switched on and your battery is good your brick may be toast.

I tried a second transmitter on the same fequency still no throttle. I then connected the lipo battery directly to the motor and it ran. Could it be because I'm useing the wrong lipo? I connected a 1300mah 2C lipo to it. I know it is supposed to use a 1300mah 3C battery

Yes, because it's not the right Voltage.

Just a tip, instead of 2C it's actually written 2S  Which indicated 2 Cells.  The C rating, ie 20C, 35C is the amount of power the battery has.

2S batteries are 7.4v and 3S is 11.1v

That info would have been pertinent in your previous post

Those HZ Batteries are pretty cheap at most HobbyTownUSA stores or any other HZ rep.

Check out the prices at Hobbypartz. I run several of those in my cub and they work fine. And at about $8 each you can buy a lot more.

Andyjk, That is a beautiful place to fly!! It looks perfect. I watched your video a couple of times. I noticed the dogs are running below at 5:10 and a superb grass landing at 3:58. Are you using different camera angles?I like the angles you got.Where did you mount yours on the SC?

I used the Super Cub with an Aerial Drop Module yesterday.I also wantedtoshare the experience with you guys too. Here's the footage:

Thanks for the compliments! Yeah it is a beautiful place to fly. I've done a bit of filming since then, trying different camera angles. I initially mounted the camera under the battery door but it was a bit shaky. I now mount it in the larger of the three holes that are on the underside of the plane. I'd like to get a camera that shoots with a wider angle though

Nice video by the way! What wheels/tires are those you have? I do a lot of grass landings and wouldn't mind some slightly larger tires

Larger of the 3 holes? How do you keep it from falling out? I thought the angle was perfect.I got Dubro 2 3/4" "diamond-lite" wheels. They're great on dirt, but thinner ones might even be better on grass. The thick tires get hung up and nose over just as much as the stock ones do. I like the look of the fatty tires.

Wilbur, not everybody appreciated my "bridge attempt" video!! lol even though it was 1/2 mile away from any cars (there's 2 bridges in the video, and I flew under the small one, apedestrian bridge). Again not everybody liked it because they said beginners might try something dangerous after watching the video.Glad u liked it though. Thanks

i still think this is one of the coolest views, mounted on a towed glider. This guy did another unique angle too, check out his channel for more:

I made some mount brackets out of aluminium and attached them to the camera. It fits nice and snug now. Plus I can rotate it around the hole to face other directions. Here are some pics.

Yeah I like the look ofthe diamond lite ones. I dont like the look of the thinner ones that I've seen people use.

Glued in the rectangle yet??? The piece with the three holes in it? Yeah I though that seemed a bit loose. Why is it only taped in? What is it's purpose anyway?

In the first vid (with the dogs running) it was actually mounted differently:
