ORIGINAL: crosborne

Crashed full speed, nose first.
Bummer.

Did this on my old fuse. Augered in from roughly 100ft in to pea gravel. Broke off the front 10" of the fuselage. Glued it back on and it flew but the nose had a bit of an upwards attitude due to the impact not to mention the few oz it gained due to epoxy and fiberglass. Glad I finally replaced that fuse. Lost 5 oz.

Trying to correct right now my friend removed it Sorry

Cool It's fixed and I learned how to use edit

Incidentally the stock f27c esc survived as did carefully watched Lipo - also stock.
Motor is a different story and Parkzone does not sell a replacement shaft as the prop will never spend true again Thanks

I swear that was my crash minus 2 feet of snow. I did the exact same thing! I posted pics of the crash site back a few pages. The plane broke along the same lines too.....weird. I also went sun seeking. Have fun rebuilding.....I am.

35 degrees, 3mph winds .. it aint a stryker (far from it) but the lil thing is a blast to fly in a small space..
shot a vid the other day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToosReGWxkU

next project: 76MM fan+ 4s capable 2600kv outrunner+ bare stryker fuse with some serious airfoil rimming=

This is sort of a warning about those mini 5in1 cameras. I bought one quite awhile back and didn't charge it before testing. That ruins the battery and camera for good. It was my bad. So I finally bought a new one off ebay. Unfortunately I didn't read through the auction well enough, but it said NEW - but opened. Well that's a bad idea. Don't every buy one of these unless it is brand-new, unopened, and in the original packaging because now I got burned with another piece of junk with a battery that's toast. I'm arguing back and forth now with the seller about sending me a camera that he previously ruined. I did find a seller on Ebay though w/ a bunch of these brand new cameras:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search...tSearch=Search
With shipping, they're about $50. I still want a darn camera that I can mount on my Stryker, so I'm thinking about trying once again - especially since this seller seems to have a good return policy.

BEWARE, though. If you buy one of these, make sure you follow the instructions to charge it for 4 hours BEFORE any testing of any kind. And I still don't know if you can overcharge the batteries on these things. I wonder how long they'll last with normal use.

Holyschmoley,
Look back a few pages for a post by Maxamus about converting the camera to run on power from your ESC, that should do the trick. Also it should be possible to find that battery for sale somewhere.

HOLYSCHMOLEY
I trust you still have your cams all is not lost !! that same thing happened to me and there is a simple mod to enable you to power your cam via a spare port on your rx !! no need for the battery or to ever charge it again see my post on this simple mod or pm me for details

Once you removed the lipo battery from the cam,how do you power it once connected to the pc?Im guessing it has to be connected to the RX still?Good info, looks like somthing I will be doing once I get one of these cams.

That's a different camera. Check the ebay link I posted. The one(s) I have is the little thin black one that overstock used to carry for $50 and then $35.

I am going to try and tear one of my cameras apart, though. Maybe I can do the same thing with the one I got.

I have been meaning to get some aerial video forever. Man, I'm annoyed with this thing. I just ordered my 3rd one, brand new, via that link I posted. I'm hoping the guy who sold me the last one will take it back.

the power once the cam is connected to the pc is drawn from the pc no need to have it connected to your rx ( when connected to a spare port on your rx power comes from your flt battery )

I checked your link 1st, actually, before buying this one AGAIN. It looks like that verbatim one is sold out again. That thing is hard to come by.

Picking up the new Bird tomorrow!!

How do the stock servos hold up on the Stryker? I am switching the elevator out on my Typhoon tomorrow for an MG... ...Do I need to worry about the Stryker's though?

Hope to maiden it by the weekend.

Have Fun!

Which stryker are you getting?I have no experiance with the F27C model, but didnt have any trouble with the F27B model servos.I think you can change the C models to the HS81 or others. But the one for the B modle have a different plug.
