Last week i crashed my Art-Tech Pitt's Bi-plane that had a brushless outrunner in it. It was the 2nd flight with the outrunner. So anyway... I was coming in for an on power, crosswind landing in about a 4-5 mph wind. Suddenly there was a 8-9 mph gust of wind that pushed me down to the ground (landing on gravel). I snapped the prop, snapped the main fuse and cracked part of the lower wing. Anyway, i want to build a new plane using the electronics from the pitts. Im going to buy a new fuse, single wing and tail assembly. But,i was wondering whether to use balsa or foam. l was also wondering if anybody knows of a good foam or balsa ARF to get. I'd just like to know if anyone knows of a good one to get. I'd like it to be one without a landing gear and have the motor and prop high up so i can land on grass with no gear. Also, whats your opinion of balsa vs. foam for my build?? Id prefer an ARF but kits are okay too.
Thanks!
Thanks!

dude54325,
Maybe you should state what parts you have. Such as this motor with this KV, this ESC, that battery, etc....
For example, I cannot recommend a Parkzone F-27 Stryker if I don't know what parts you have. The foam fuse is $20 and very durable given a single C.F. tube or strip $6 and some 3M Extreme tape $9.

Im not too sure. I bought a cheap generic brand Brushless outrunner motor and speed control, but it must be pretty strong because i can hover my pitts(34 in. Wingspan) at 1/2 throttle. I have the stock art-tech raciever and radio and i have 4 micro servos. I forgot to mention, i dont want something 3d. I mainly want a sport flyer that san do loops and rolls and inverted flight. I dont really like anything else. I just want a parkflier. Thanks

You can state the size (diameter and length), weight of the motor and any numbers off of the motor.
What prop size were you running?
Did you take a tach reading?
ESC info?
Battery info?
Answer all of the above question so we can best help you.

The 3 hatches, vertical fins, and Elevons and motor mount will cost another $25 roughly.
You might be able to adapt the motor mount to your motor.

I wonder if this is the same motor from China? I believe that it may have come in a few slightly different varieties in the last few years.
I hardly know anything on this motor(if it is the BP-21) except for it not being a very good performance motor for Stryker.
When on 3S it should be somewhat better than the stock 480 brushed motor of F-27B , but on 3S it'll need a smaller prop than that 10" unit (7" to 8" range diameter?).
Here is one:
https://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITED...idProduct=4321
That motor is rated to run the 10X4.7 prop on 2 cells lipoly, see bottom of that page. Same prop as you mentioned above.
If you have a 1300mAH-2 cell lipoly battery; that is not good for a Stryker. Tell us the number of cells or battery voltage.
_______________
Hope others with extensive BP-21 motor experience chime in to help you further.
I cannot help you any further, but post all the details possible so other can recommend a better plane for your parts and battery if you don't want to upgrade.
Good luck,
Gryphon

The shaft is not covered in rust, its just the lighting. Also, i have a 3 cell 1300Mah Lipo. But like i said, i dont need the power to do aerobatics, i just want it to fly. So, could i use the extra power from not doing 3d to get a bigger plane but then use a higher % throttle for flight???
Thanks

I really need some help[sm=drowning.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
Here is a list of all the stuff i have and also some other info:[sm=idea.gif]
4 micro .26 sec anolog servos
4channel reciever and tx(non-digital)
3S 3 Cell Lipo 1300Mah
Deans plugs
ESC 25A
Damaged Foamy Pitts 3D Parkflier/3D plane
Like i said before, i dont need a 3d plane. But a 3d plane is okay. I just mainly want something to fly circuits and passes (loops rolls) with. If needed i will buy more equipment. I have a budget of 50-100 dollars, preferably less. I really dont have any performance requirements for this plane. I just want to fly. [sm=punching.gif]
Thanks for all ur help, and special thanks to Gryphon
