Default Brushless recomendations for a Mini Slinger

I've had a mini slinger that I've had a blast with this summer. So much so that I want to build another this winter except I want to increase the speed by replacing the little brushed 180 motor that comes with it. I'm still learning and don't have much building experience so I want to keep the mod simple. I figure the right combination of brushless motor and battery should do wonders for this little screamer. Any combinations you feel would work or have had experience with would be greatly appreciated. I'll let you know what I decide on and what the outcome is when I test it.

This one is similar to the Hacker B20-26L that I ran on my mini slinger with great results.

My hookup was the Hcker B20-26L a Graupner 5.2x5.2 prop and a TP 3s 1320. High 70's for speed, nice vertical and only pulled about 12 amps.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin thanks for the response. Sounds just like what I'm looking for. Did you just mount it in the standard set up and did you have to cut a hole in the hatch for cooling? I may even try to get this up and running in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again.

Scot

Hi Scot,

I used the standard mounting but roughed up the plastic with some sandpaper and epoxied the motor in. I did not cut any holes in for cooling but you could if you wanted to, wouldn't hurt a thing.

I see you are in Elyria, I'm in North Olmsted, where do you fly at?

I fly at LCCC. They don't mind as long as it's electric. There's a huge field on the north side with one soccer field. It's perfect for park flyers.
