I'll take a stab and say that I would go with the Tower .46. I think you would need a Saito .72 to be happy with a 4 stroke from Saito on this plane. Just my $.02...

If you've got one of the Towers that run, it will be better than the .56 4stroke, but the Towers I saw wouldn't run, in which case I think the Saito would develope more power. The .56 is reliable but a bit heavy for the power it makes. As Chuck said, just my 2 cents.

I have had two tower .46 engines and they ran very well but not an excessive amount of power. Build the airplane light and the .46 should handle it just fine.

I've heard others say that about the Towers, then Others hate them. I would love to know the difference. I don't have one, but my buddy James has 2 that go from power to none all the time, and I've tried and tried to help him, to no avail. I won't say they are bad, just I don't know how to make them run.
Probably like the Big STs, I love mine, stock and on 0% nitro. Others say they are paperweights!! Go figure!

Hearing you say that reminds me of mine. I remember now.
They did not run all that well from the begining then I read an article called "Death to evil air leaks" Get some Copper based high temp RTV and seal EVERYTHING. Get rid of those D--n red gaskets and use a toothpick and lightly seal the fuel nipple on the carb, the two aroud the needle valve, the backplate, and around the carb. Seal them up and they do run nice.
I am sorry I completely forgot about that. But yes they do run nice if you seal them up. Or most engines for that matter.

That is my second Tower .46. The other one runs well. It gets almost 15000 rpm on an 11x5 prop. I need to seal it with the silicone stuff. I read that article too, but I haven't done it yet.

Most hobby shops don't want to stock it because there's very little demand for it, but it's available.

If it's on Horizon's website, any hobby shop that deals with Horizon can get it. Just scroll down about 2/3 of the page and you'll see the Cool Power FAI there.
