The 1/8" cf tubes come with the kit... but I'm sure you can get them from a kite supply place...

Any reason why you charge the battery in a tin can?

You gotta be real carefull with LiPolly's. Best to keep them contained incase anything bad happens.... LiPolly's are to be respected... If you inadvertently overcharge them... they will explode and spue their hot contents all over the place... Could cause a fire..

That's why I charge them in a can...

Paul, looks good. I just spent this evening flying indoors with Jeff Williams. I have a Depron Edge that I designed. I'm flying it with a Razor 350 in a GWS D gear box with a 12x6 prop. All I can say is it's a hoot, and it is definitely improving my flying skills. Tom

Hey Tom... What kind of battery power are you running on your GWS 350 D? The 12 x 6 prop seems like a lot of prop for that motor... Everyone's been saying how the GWS motors burn up really fast with the three cell LiPolly's... but mine didn't even get hot with the 10 x 4.7 prop.... and it had plenty of pull... I think I'd like to try the 11 x 4.7....

I ran a 12X6 on my GWS can motors, and they burned up fast. I think running the smaller prop is what's keeping your amps down and not burning your motor up. The 11X 4.7 ought to give quite a bit more thrust, but it's gonna draw more amps and your motor will be hotter.

Bad thing is... I was running an 11X6 (12X6 cut down) and I though it was doing pretty good, then went back to the 12X6 and holy cow!! It kicks major booty. The difference was pretty noticable.

So how long or how many flights can a GWS motor last? That's about $18 a shot.

Paul, I'm running a Razor brushless in the GWS gearbox, but I have run the stock 350 on the 3 cells without burning up a motor. The motor sure does get hot. The Razor just gets a little warm. Tom

Tom - How would you rate the perfomance of the Razor over the stock 350 setup?

I'm not Tom, but I've had both. I can't tell much difference between the brushed and brushless power-wise running the 12X6 on 3S lipos, but running the 12X6 I went through 3 motors in pretty rapid succession. I was always worried that at any time my motor might smoke. Then with the brushless, I just fly! I was running a Razor 300, that was too high a Kv motor and it really sucked the juice, that's why I went to the 11X6. Now I'm running a $52 Himax 2015 4100 brushless and the 12X6 and get 20 minutes of hard 3D action on a pack, no smoke, and grins ear to ear. This is basically equivalent to a Razor 350. I would have bought a Razor 350, or a Hacker 20 22S, but both were out of stock. So I tried the Himax and have finally found what I think is the perfect motor. I also have a Razor 400, but haven't tried it since I got the Himax. The Himax doesn't have to "wow" factor of the $90 Razor or the $100 Hacker, but it fits my needs. Love it. Tried to get Gator to buy one, don't know if he did..I think Ulf might have.

Gator bought one.... I'll have to try his.... I'm also gonna try the 11 x 4.7 prop... but I think I'll chew up some more motors that way....

I'm flying a 3DX. I replaced the GWS can motor with a RZ-350 over this past weekend. The big difference for me was being able to run at WOT without a fear of burning up another can motor. The first motor infant mortality could have been with issues I had setting up the speed controller and radio throttle travel on my 10X. Vertical pullout from a hover was much stronger. It was very windy and will get in another flight this afternoon. Still, when it was down wind it had no trouble getting back to where I was. Removing the brushed motor and CC Pixie 20P and putting on the razor with CC Phoenix 25 made it REAL tailheavy. The brushed motor freewheels, adding drag to slow the plane down. The razor will "catch" and stop the prop (really cool in a dive). Something to watch on landing though. My .02.

Paul, if you want to try the Razor 300, I'll let you give it a whirl. I think on the D gears and 11X4.7 prop it would be a lot better than the 11X6 I was using. And I promise you will tell a power difference LOL...you have a brushless speed controller handy??

Duuuude... That would be awesome!! I can get a brushless controler for sure... How would the Castle Creations Phoenix 25 do with the 3 cell LiPo's?
