I am wanting to get a good flying profile. I have had a Sig Ultimate profile, it sucked. I have a pizazz which flys good, but I still want a good profile. Looking at a pro-twister or a Knife. also looking at a topcap arf or sudukoi arf. any ideas?
thanks

I have had all of those you listed except the top cap. All are good kits to build. If you ARF-it then its gonna be heavier than if you build it. I personally think the Knife kit or P.T. kit are the easiest to build because of the straight wing. Morris has alot of good hardware in there kits, Lanier has no hardware cept the LG. I have built a ton of P.T.'s. Most from scratch.

Get the topcap... i just got one together and have put about 10 flights on it in the last 3 days. The plane flys super. I wish i had gotten one of these years ago. The only thing that i was miffed about was the covering job. They use ultracote which is good but they didn't really stick it down tight. The flying qualities of the plane make up for that covering job by far.

RCFlyer86, here is my 2 cents on the good profile. Obviously Morris is the benchmark, and they have some good ones. What are you looking to do? If you just want to learn to hover then I suggest the profile hots or better yet the knife. If you are ready to go beyond that the new Sledge 540 is the choice. The top cap and sudokhoi are good also but the sledge combines it all plus more 3D capable. IF you want to go box fuse I suggest a look at www.hsrcm.com. They should be shipping the sledge this week.
I have a knife and top cap arf NIB if you are interested. Email me at [email protected] Thanks Jeff Williams.

Hi Eric,
To add the pic under your name (called an "avatar") go to "Edit Profile" then "Edit Options" and look for Avatars. You'll need to edit your desired pic in a paint program, making sure that it's filesize is less than the max size allowed and then upload it as instructed.
It must be easy....I did it!
Some guys even have animated .gif avatars....don't ask me how'd they do that!

hey Eric, I didnt know that was you till I saw milton answer your post.
do like milton said on the avatar. find a pic you like, then you got to shrink it to 85x85 which is pretty small. If you got a graphics program it would be under"resize". then save it to your graphics program, on the profile edit , it ask you to browse, find your pic in the program and your there...G

Hey Eric... Nice to see you up here..... You outta go for the knife or the pro-twister.... Easy to build... I like the SuDuKhoi because of the tapered wing... Not that much harder to build. The arf's are heavy and the performance isn't as good... but you may be willing to sacrifice a little performance to avoid having to build it.

I think I'm gonna go for the pro-twister. I have built one before, but sold it to Charlie, easy easy to build. do you think a tower .46 would be a good powerplant? does anybody know anything about this engine? its so cheap I don't see how it could be as good as people say.
thanks,
Eric

What do you think of the Aeron? How does it compare to the Sledge?
I appreciate your opinion. Don

Hey Eric,
I got a ProTwister from Termigator a while back and loved it 'til I cracked it up...you wouldn't go wrong with one. I'm surprised Gator didn't mention the Morris Gee Whiz Bee. I have flown his a fair amount and it's also a great flyer. Get Termigator to tell you what mag the Mecoa add is in. They got an engine and ProTwister kit for about $100.

hey Eric, I bet if you build the P.T.(and build it light) with the Tower46, there will be a surge of purchase's for the Towers 46 eng sales to the western Tn area, after everybody see's how much fun your haveing.
Tower may even have a combo deal witht this kit and motor. I have found the P.T. kits on towers web page, but had to dig deep to find it. I think tower will let you build you own combo too....Gator

I have got it narrowed down to the sledge-540, pro-twister, and the profile hots. I found out my building table is warped, as soon as I get a new one, I will build something.

Are you sure you want a PT? Better do some more research as it doesn't even come close to the performance of the top models out today. I have to say there is one plane you should at least do some looking at and that's the Ohio Model Planes (formally ACES1) Edge 540 Profile. Better than Morris? Well do the research on the forums and you will find the answers. All I know is everyone who flies both picks the Edge Profile. Available now? Yes, has been on the market since last Aug. This plane makes learning 3D and hovering very easy as it is very very stable yet when turned loose will never dissappoint you. Some planes do some things better and some things worse. I've flown many fun fly planes for years and the OMP Profile Edge offers the best all around combination or performance. Plus it's cheap at $60!
