I'm to the point on the construction of my Knife ARF where I'm to install the radio, battery and fuel tank into the wing. The instructions say to install them and make sure they don't move around. I've built quite a few kits and I'm pretty good at making modifications to keep the reciever and battery in place. However, I can't figure out how to do it in the wings of this plane. If I install the receiver now, and then install the servo tray after it I won't be able to plug all the servos into the reciever.. I've tried to keep them from moving, but I klnow this won't work.. how did everyone else do this????
Can anyone help???

You are correct, you have to install the tank, receiver, and battery before the servo trays. I built my Knife several months ago but from memory here is what I did.
I shimmed the trays so the servo tops just cleared the hatch and had them ready to be glued in. Next install the radio switch on the wing. Then wrap the receiver and battery in foam and make all the connections to the servos (you may need to run the wires through the tray that holds 3 servos before plugging them into the receiver). Servos dangling on the propper side of the plane and all the connections made, install the radio gear and tank then the servo trays.
You really need 3 hands but it all works out fine.

Lastly, screw the servos in the proper position on each tray.
I forgot to tell you, the servos are in the trays but loose. When you glue the trays in you have to get the front/rear distance correct to line up with the holes in the hatches. After the trays are in you only have to line them up left/right by sliding the servos to the proper position on the tray and screwing them down.

this is what i did, I got all my servos lined up with the holes in the hatch, then took out the left ail servo, so i could squeeze the rec thru the tray, then i plugged all my stuff into the rec, before shoveing it foward of the spar, wedged it up in the leading edge t with some foam, then put the aileron servo back in. If i was building this kit, i always make my hatch in the top of the wing, and mount the servos into some hardwood that I mount to the wing sheeting. (bottom of the wing)
this give you a littl more room to move around in these tight compartments and it works pretty good.
In my knife ARF have the rec in the left wing panel...........
and a 700nah battery pack in the right wing behind the servo tray
Good luck...G
