No, it's no longer a rumor! We will have pictures of the plane posted tomorrow or Tuesday.
50" Wingspan. Ultimate style with 3D sized control surfaces. Designed for a .61 2 stroke. (<-- Jim D). However I'm sure we'll see plenty with 91's on it.
It will be coming out as an ARF first!

STLPilot,
If the ARF is coming out first, how long are we going to have to wait on a kit?
How good a job are the shipping companies doing transporting the ARFs?
Are you getting a lot of complaints?
If I order an ARF, is it going to get to my door in one piece?
Thanks,
Dean

We have no plans for the Ultimate Bipe in kit form as of right now. Of course that can change quickly and since the kits are produced in the US the turnaround time is much faster then ARF'. The kits depend on the demand and your requests for us to do so.

It's not a top notch question. I'm sure they are!
This would be a great topic in the club house forum. "Why do they make great looking ARFs but no Kits for the same airplanes?"

I think that they are just trying to keep up with what people are asking for- I would say that they have had a lot of requests for arfs as they have traditionally been a kit company- I think that they might offer kits of these planes after they see some success- arfs will get the product out there faster and with more volume so you will get more feedback and many more opinions of the planes characteristics- jst my .02$

However when it comes to OMP we are going to do what our legacy has started out with. Build great planes, listen for feedback, correct the issues, repeat. You guys wanted a Bipe, here it comes. The next bird we are working on is also in direct response to your emails and posts as well.
Right now the OMP Profile Bipe we are working on is going to be delivered in ARF form first. We will see how the feedback goes. If you say ARF's not good enough then we will produce kits based on demand.

Ah yes......the question of ARF versus kits. Yes Mikey has a hand in this bipe creation as all the profiles we've created but this is the first one we are working directly with the ARF company to produce right from the get-go. It's really much faster and efficient and it seems Americans really want ARFs over kits probably 100 to 1! Heck I know even famous Pro Bros that buy ARFs and then immediately strip the covering off to put there own scheme on the plane just to avoid building. Kits of the bipe would be easy to move into maybe after the ARFs take off.....we'll just have to see. Right now I'm still in the development stage and prototyping.

WOW! I'm that 1....cool, never been 1 out of 100 before......do I win a prize? How about a Bipe Kit! heh Heh.
STPILOT: Please Chime in to the thread that I started so we could have a manufactures point of view as you said you would be happy to.
I still do not understand how/why it is less work to ARF a new airplane than kit it first. You would think it would be the other way around.

So this thing will be right sized for a Saito 91?
I'm with Wagas. I go about 1/2 and 1/2 kits and ARF's. I prefer kits, but don't have time to build all kits, so I also have a few ARF's. I had a couple of bad ARF experiences to start with and still have had only what I would call 'fair' quality ARF's. Remember, these planes are being measured against what I build, a tougher yardstick than comparing a reasonable quality ARF to a POS ARF.
But forced to go one way or the other, I'd be a kit man.
I am also very interested in the ARC method, but this just doesn't seem very popular.

The ARC method is super popular down here. Because monokote runs about $20 a roll people do all they can to avoid, including the manufacturers bc it skyrockets the price. With the ARC you get a little of the ARF ease without the ARF look.

Hey NovaBill, Funny but that's the motor I have slated for the prototype. My MDS .68 is a rocket, one of the best running motors I've ever had.
Really though guys I'm way early in the first prototype phase and I hate to get too ahead of the game. We all know how long it's taken to bring the other kit lines to market. That's the primary reason we are initially going straight for ARFs. It really is much quicker than a kit line. But don't worry, I'm a die-hard kit builder myself so it will happen after the ARFs....I hope.

What prop would you put on that 68? I've had 2 of them, loved them both, but usually in sport planes, like a 60 sized stick swinging a 12x6. I tried it in a 3D plane with a 13x4, but didn't like that.
