Default Full Scale 3-d Pics

I went to an airshow Yesterday and got a few pics of Kirby Chambliss. I was blown away seeing this stuff done by a full scale. It was a minimally advertised airshow but A really good show. Also performing were Matt Chapman, Mike Mancuso, and Stu Moment. It was the first time I had ever seen in person an Edge, an Extra and a Cap.
1----When Mike Mancuso finished his routine he was taxiing past Kirby, Kirby kicks the rudder hits the smoke and in true pro bro fashion slimes him
2----- This is Kirby's Take off. Right into a long Harrier

Thats really cool. Did Kirby get a new scheme or am I thinking of Sean Tuckers edge?

I saw some pretty cool stuff at Oshkosh this year. More full scale pilots are emulating the 3D maneuvers we've been seeing for awhile in RC.

Those are awesome Sloan! Got any more?

I missed Kirby and Tucker a year ago here in Memphis.... [&o]

On the other hand, I have managed to gather some pretty good clips(movies) off the net that have included some pretty good full-scale 3d-ing. Cool things like walls, decending torquerolls, rolling harriers, microloops, etc. I think I now have about an hour of footage total....

Jeremy, this is the only other one I got. Bill and Darlene Cline were there hanging out with Matt Chapman, Since she was on the flight line I had her take this close up for me.
And yes I saw all the maneuvers you mentioned, but most of the stalled moves were done by Kirby

Brian, Lots of TR's. but they were slowly decending. When I was Getting an autograph from Kirby I said You just need a little more power. He said I want twice as much power!
And your right, sorry bout the crappy camera[]

Hey guys, I too was at that airshow on Sunday and I was very fortunate and lucky enough to be friends with the right people, got to crew for Matt and Kirby. I got to fuel, service the smoke oil and clean the planes all day. WOW I had a blast. Already knowing Matt and how great of a guy he is, I hadn't met Kirby until yesterday. Well guys I got to tell you he is really a nice guy. He and I talked about his Edges and his career and what is in his future for hours. Man this guy has the best job of anybody I know. If any of you get a chance to meet him I know you will feel the same way I do. He is the best.

If Kirby has balls, then Jim LeRoy has bowling balls.

Had the pleasure of seeing Kirby perform last year at Reno. If you ever get the chance to see him, don't pass it up. The man puts on one heck of a performance. Here's a picture of his plane sitting in a hangar at Reno last year.

I've seen the videos of Jim LeRoy and the Bulldog Pitts, simply nuts!

Kirby is awesome as well. But I have noticed the pilots that still compete in FAI are smoother but not quite as 'balls to the wall' as the pure airshow pilots. Patty's routines have gotten quite a bit wilder since she quit competing.

well i remember seeing Pip borman in his edge540. Last time i saw him flying was at the Avalon airshow australia (seen him three times i think). He did a race with a V8 supercar down the runway. The car just beat him, but then he pulled up into a vertical.
somthin even better then that though was seeing an F-18 doing a rake of then pulling into vertical straight away, then keeping it in between a hover and harrier about 40m above the ground, dang amagine the power it must have.

For some good full-scale "3d" vids, check out Jurgis Kairys at [link=http://www.jkairys.com/english/index.htm]http://www.jkairys.com/english/index.htm[/link] under "movies".

Not 3d, but for some other cool full scale aerobatic stuff check out [link=http://www.redbullairrace.com]www.redbullairrace.com[/link] . The whole concept is pretty awesome!
