Watch the video D. Yes I can lock it in really nice most of the time. It's when I start turning my thumbs mess up but that's only because my talents are limited. My buddy here locally can do them really nice. Again check out the video on our webpage, there is a good clip on the inverted harrier. Thanks for asking D!

John McNees could not wait to cover one. This is prolly going to be the ARF scheme.
Hope to get some more pics of it built. The colors are off a bit in the pics a little.

I'll have pics of Johnny boys bipe shortly. We built this one from a short kit recently just to finish the manual with. I'd say hovering and harriers are as easy as most 40 size profiles but being a bipe it's certainly very nimble. So it's not as "soft" as say the 65" Yak but probably someplace inbetween the small profiles and the 65" yak. Yes it has plenty of control authority as well.

LOL mrbigg if I had to get one to do a build thread you guys are going to wait till march for it. Sad that is indeed yes. Shipping from OMP to me takes about 4 weeks. Believe me it's not something I'm very much in love with. But yes I am planning on getting the Ultimate that is for sure. Just got to figure out how I am going to get my credit card cleared up again. Well that does it then. My next profile will definitely be an OMP. I do my best to buy Made in USA whenever possible. Besides the OMP kits and planes look to be excellent. Since I love bipes that Ultimate will almost surely be the one for me.
Are the OMP ARF's produced in the States as well?
Tha covering job, by John McNees, is beautiful.

Whtbronco, Hey Thanks on the compliment, I appreciate it. You know the hard part about covering these planes is coming up with something new that doesn't look like everybody elses plane. I've been doing this for almost 8 years now and it gets harder all the time to design new schemes. I'm glad you like the bipe. I think mine will be the same colors only over a yellow base coat. Keep checking the web-site for new schemes and we will have all the OMP planes at Toledo. Take care John McNees

Looks like a very nice plane. I really like Johns' covering job too. I seen the video also, very nice there too. Looking at the pics of Johns' plane, on the website, I noticed a couple of things. First, the radio gear appears to be mounted in the fuse. How thick is the fuse? Secondly, it appears that the wings are removable. Are they? Lastly, when will they be out as an ARF?

Yes the radio gear is mounted in the fuselage. Prototypes had the gear in the bottom wing however proper vertical balance of the plane requires the gear in the fuselage. The fuse is 7/8" wide inside the hatch area but if you look at the pics you can see the hatch perimeter is raised to add even more room. Both wings do come off and are secured with 4-40 socket head bolts at each cabane. The radio installation is very versatile and one can mount two or four aileron servos. Two are prefered and mounted in the top wing again for proper balance. Easily connected and disconnected for transport. Wires run through the center cabane strut.
ARFs will be some time though. We all know how previous promises of ARF deliveries have been delayed and delayed by both manufacturers and shippers. All I can sy is there will be ARFs of the 90 size Ultimate but only God knows when!

So Mike we'll need about 4 12 inch servo leads to rig it out? Has OMP got any plans for perhaps some lightweight wheel spats in the future? Would add a nice finishing touch.
