I would like to announce the birth of a new baby in the hangar of DoubleD. Although its legal name is "GeeBee" I have elected to nickname it "Whiz". Conception was in the warehouse of a well known hobby supplier in the deep south a few months ago. I think the name is Morris.
Life began at approximately 9:00 PM this evening in a spectacularly strewn shop not far from the site of the 1st Annual Profile Brotherhood Fun Fly.
I am hopefull that this one is not cruelly snatched from the air like its twin brother was a couple weeks ago. Its brother was aquired from a man named Jens and flew very well until its health started failing due to a flight with its cousin which was flown by a fella named "GATOR". Oh well, I think it was "Jensxed" anyway!
You'll notice by the picture that the birth was a little premature, its weight now only a few ounces. But don't despair, "GeeWhizBee" will be about 4 pounds in just a few days. They grow up so fast you know!
I can't wait to see it gain some color and sprout arms and legs. Just to watch it leave the ground and fly STRAIGHT UP, into the wild blue yonder, powered by an alcohol burning red engine built in England will be a sight ot behold!
Loops, Water Falls, Knife Edge Hovers into the wind and anything else just for the delight of the pilot! Wow, I think this one might be the best yet! Could it be that this one will live forever? All that tender loving care and pride. All the anticipation. Surely
it will survive!.............NOT!
Oh well, at worst it will be an organ donor! And, I'll bet there's another one in that warehouse with my name on it when the time comes!

Pretty Cool DoubleD!
I cannot wait to see it at the field.
I am wondering what kinda cool covering scheme you will do this one with. I know you are not going back with red and white are you?

Fuse is nearly done. All that's left is the canopy. The real fun starts now. Wings!
I'm thinking Base White with Canary Yellow GB Outlines trimmed
with Bright Red Pins.
I'm in negotiations with "MY FRIEND" Mr. Termigator to trim the bottom. He's got and idea of some black on white thing...
I don't know if I can swing it though! I'm not sure that framing a minimum of 5 planes in the next month and supplying the kits and materials is a fair trade!
I'll have to ponder on it tomorrow while I'm under the influence of CA Fumes.

Hey Double D...I sheeted my canopy with 1/16th balsa. Gator said he had trouble with his breaking up there. Too many inverted landings I think. Easier to cover too. I also lightened the ribs in front of and behind the spar, saved a bunch there I think. I still just have that one day flying on mine, I'll try and get out wed or thurs. When are you guys getting out next?

I think it's gonna' be obese!
Fuse and Wing ready to cover...1 lb 7 oz.
I think the weight is attributed to over eating!
But, the servo's are all hidden in the Wing by laying them down.
The cables will exit to the Left and right of the Fuse at the proper time.
I really liked the last GWB with the cable exposed. Decided to do the same on this one.
Tail feathers start Sunday morn.
Maybe I should cover it clear to cut the weight down....what do you think?

Good idea....I found some 1/32 to try on mine too!
But I'm not sure it's necessary....You know Gator doesn't know which side of his planes to land on!
