What are most of you guys running for props? Wood, apc wide blades, or just standard props? Im speaking of smaller .90 size and smaller planes.

depends on the plane....

on my profile, Katana GS 40 size with a .61 OS, I run a 13 x 4W
on my Showitme (excellent plane by the way) I have a Saito 1.00 with an APC 15 x 6
on my .46 OS AX, airframe of the week, I usually run an APC 12.25 x 3.75....

but always APC
tested the others and none have the efficiency that I was looking for

For my flying I like them as long and wide as the engine will take...
My 46fx's and YS 63 I use APC 12.25 x 3.75.. On my Mag 91 APC
14X4W... Saito 100.. APC 16X4W... I tried the APC 15X6 but I like
the other better... I've tried other props, wood included and some
we "look" better for certain apps... But it hard to beat the APC for
pushing air even with it's added weight IMO...

Thats the same thing ive run into. the apc wide blades seem to be the most effecient props for all around use. everyone always says the wood props are so stiff but there really isnt a wide blade wood prop made for this type of flying. Just wondering what you guys were running.

the key is the type of flying... since you posted this in the profile forum, I can assume you are looking for 3D flight... yep...bigger props that are "W" get more thrust....

if you had posted in the pylon forum. this conversation would be completely different

Mostly APC's and depends on the set up, will use a W.

160's and above for the most part are either CF or wood's. I don' care for the way BIG APC's work for 3D.
