WOW! Looks fun to me. That splash page on his website made me jump back 2 feet. I thought it was a real eagle about to eat me! I guess he's building them here???? Gotta fly one.

Yup that's one giant shockflyer like thingy. I'd sure like to play with it for a tank or two as well! Pretty sure it's way out of my price range but it looks like stacks of fun.

Saw this plane in person at Joe Nall. Seemed to fly just fine with the Saito. The flat piece across the top of the fuse above the engine took care of wing rock with harriers. The plane was dead still in parachutes. The front of the fuse is 2" wide and is beefy enough to handle the engine, gear and wing mount loads. Might be just a bit heavier because of this, but I found this was the weak area on my OMP 80" Edge. I was impressed.

The Saito 180 seemed to haul this plane around just fine. You can always stick something else really sick on it. I fly my OMP with an MVVS 2.15 gasser and it 3D's just fine at 12# even, but I have a DA50 that would turn it into the absolute beast (and save me 7 - 8oz on my setup.) Ditto if you hung the MVVS 45 or the like on the Golden Eagle.

Hi guys,
I'm Chris Tomberlin, designer and peddler of the Talon F1-P.
If you don't mind, I'll jump in with a few answers to the above:
No one has stomped one of my airplanes - yet!
Yes, the weight is correct. I don't BS people about that to sell a few airplanes. After seeing several of the the current superlight ARF's literally explode in midair from overpower, overspeed, poor design, etc., I designed my airplane to be a little more sturdy for what you guys will throw at it. I slam my own planes around without mercy so I built it to last. At 13.5 lbs. it has a 19.5 oz./sq.ft. wing loading - it's a floater.
The Saito 1.80 is about the least power I would use on it. Plenty of power for most 3D but needs more ommph for blasting out of hovers. I'll not use his name without permission, but a current national aerobatic champ flew the Talon at Joe Nall with the Saito 1.80 and performed most of his 40% airplane's freestyle routine with it. Rolling loops, torque rolls, blinding fast rolling harriers - I don't think I took a breath the whole time.
I've also tested it with a Moki 2.1 - awesome power. I fly mostly gas so, as we speak, I'm mounting up an Evolution 35 (2.15 c.i.) gasser with a tuned pipe. I'll let you know how that goes in few days - weather permitting.
I'll be glad to answer any questions as directly as I can. Heard too much hype from all the others to spew it myself.
The first shipment will be here about mid-Jan.
Thanks,
Chris
