Default Omp Edge....wow

I have had many profile 3d planes, but the omp edge 540p rocks!! It is easy to do all the 3-d stuff, makes my topcap fly like a rock. Tail touches were so easy. I flew mine for the first time monday and I loved it so much I came home and ordered another one. I handed a flying buddy the TX and he did a several tail touches and then dorked my new plane, but it didn't hurt it thank god. He likes it better than his cgb 330. I think I better go ahead and get a few of these ready to fly because I have found my second true love!!
Thanks,
Chris

I picked up two kits a couple of weeks ago at a swap meet. I want to learn to hover next season, I figured I better have a spare.
Darren Eaton and Jeff Heitman seem to like them alot, and they put on a hell of a show with em'.

I use standard futaba servo's and a os 46fx with a mac's tuned pipe. You can balance the plane with the engine. I did not add any weight to balance.

Default 3.5 lb Ohio Edge

Mine weighs 3 lb 8 oz with Saito 72 and 2 oz tail weight. I also have the DuBro FG fun fly LG which aren't all that light either. I didn't drill any extra holes but I used all contest balsa. Transparent Monokote, HS225MG's, HS81 on throttle, 5 x 1000 mah NiMH. The engine is definitely too much for the plane at this weight as it accelerates vertical like a rocket! I could get away with a smaller engine, get rid of the tail weight, and come in at right around 3 lb. I think even a 32 2-stroke would hover the plane at that weight.

yeah we are using hs 81's all the way around and a 250 mah battery. it will fly or crash , we are just interested to see what you can get away with. :stupid:
