Need new profile ARF for Moki 210
I crashed by big fun fly plane (scratch built) today and am thinking about going the ARF route to minimize the emotional attachment. Who sells the best flying ARF profile suitable for Moki 210. This motor weight 3 pounds and swings a 20 inch prop.

Take a look at the Talon F1-P at www.goldeneagleaircraft.com. One of my test airplanes was powered by a Moki 2.10 and was a real solid performer with that engine.
Thanks,
Chris

Thanks. The link you posted does not work, but I was able to find their web site. I think you have an extra period at the end of the link. Anyway, I found their web site and it looks good. This is a plane we have not seen in our area. We see a lot of the OMP profiles here. I am going to research these also.

Oops, see what you mean about the period. The OMP's are good stuff - got friends with 'em. The Talon is a completely different animal though. I'll start shipping these out in about a week.
Thanks for looking,
Chris

I did not realize from your first post that you were the manufacturer! Your web site looks good. I'm really into a very slow style of flying, typically flying stalled more than on the wing. The plane I lost today had 2000 square inches, a very think airfoil and weighed 10.5 pounds RTF with the Moki 210. It was so light that I'm not sure how long it would have lasted under normal use. I lost it due to either a servo failure or some other glitch. (lost elevator function in the air). But it was so lightly engineered that I knew it was not going to have long life anyway. All built up with 1/16 contest balsa. I only had about 20 or 30 flights o this airframe.
Your plane at 13.5 pounds is probably a lot sturdier than the one I designed.

Dave - I think the ticket for that engine is the OMP 80 Edge or 79 Yak. Unfortunately I see the ARF's are sold out on both with no more expected anytime soon. I built the OMP 65 Yak from a kit....turned out about a half pound lighter than the ARF's because I replaced any wood that was even a tad heavy. I know you from out at Buder and based on you pretty extensive building experience, I think you'd find the OMP kits to be extremely fast and easy to build. You can have one of these framed up in 3 or 4 evenings....not much emotional attachment there. These big OMP profiles are a blast to fly. Tony Vitiello

Thanks, Tony. Where were you today? Beautiful at Buder Park today. I was there for 5 hours and flew for 10 minutes. Had multiple problems with multiple planes. I have had a 80-inch fun fly profile type plane of one sort or the other for the last ten years going back to a Morris Giant Su-do-Khoi. Always like to have one of these in the hangar. Chuck was there today with his OMP profile and Bob P also had his OMP there.

I was doing some building today thinking it wouldn't be that nice out....when I got out later I noticed it wasn't too bad. Sounds like it might be warm this week. Let me know if you get one of the OMP kits. I'm working on the OMP Boxxer right now. It's a profile bipe with a Saito 72 or 82 for power.

RE: Need new profile ARF for Moki 210
I just recieved a Tunnel Vision from Chiphyde.com - its a very nice ARF - 80" WS, very light construction, they are having a special on right now, $299 without a tailwheel, I guess they had a bunch come in without tailwheel assy's so they cut $59.00 off the price - heck I can get a carbon tailwheel for $29.00 but I just happen to have a tail wheel assy in my spare parts. It comes with some nice hard ware - ball raced control horns, alum. LG, Carbon wing and stab tubes, etc, etc. I was going to get an OMP Yak 79" but they were out of stock and I'm a bit tired of building (covering mostly - I love to build) so I got this arf to assemble in between finishing my OMP Fusion 67" and a Mojo .60 - it's only $100 more than the 80" OMP Kits!! I was planning on putting a Saito 1.80 on the TV but I may go with either the OS 1.60 or a Moki 2.10 - Check them out (the TVision) on RCU or on their website - I think you'll be impressed.
