This is what happen when I gave my buddy a sledge kit.
He just didn't like the look of a profile so he made some mods. He hopes to have it flying in about 2 weeks!
One piece plane
mostly same specs as the sledge.
Weight target with rosi 60 is 4 to 4.5 pounds RTF
I'll post more info as I get it!
Can't wait to torque this baby!

The prototype (Wedgy) flew on an OS 70 4 stroke. I've been looking at that plane for a while. I hope the kit production happens. I think plans are available.

I love then name "Somethin' Edgy"!
Sig can go ROT!
They lost focus on their customer, and spend way too much time on the P&L. I once called in an order (I won't say how long ago) and my order was written down (not keyed) by Mrs. Sig herself. OK this was many years ago. I ordered a C/L Banshee among other things. That's how long ago. She actually said "Let me get a pen." But the point is, No mistakes on the order, and she was great to talk to. I ordered my first Rossi from them a few years back also. It was when the Rossi line moved to Morris. I talked to a guy there who had a few left to sell, but no 53. I told him that a 45 was out of the question, and he took my name and phone number. He called back an hour or so, telling me he had my engine. I asked how and he said he had built it out of the parts bin. I was a bit worried by this, but he assuerd me that it was fine and the warranty would apply. 16,000+ rpm on an 11x5 APC was all I needed to see to feel better about the deal. Sig used to be great, now they struggle for average. I don't even keep their catalog anymore.
I like the "Somethin' Edgy"! I'd say if you could get plans out, they would sell. Fuselage only plans would probably be the only appropriate way, sold in addition to the regular plans. Contact Jeff Williams and Morris. They may even like the idea.
VERY COOL PLANE!!!!!

Hey TailTwister,
I never have had to deal with Sig directly, but I like what you had to say. Especially about the "custom built" Rossi.
I'm also partial to the name Somethin' Edgy
Whatever they call it, it looks like a cool plane for sure.
It would make a nice addition to the Sledge which I just ordered last week. I can't wait to get my hands on the Sledge 540

I flew control line for many years (off and on for maybe 20), until Brodak came along, Sig was all there was to help a C/L pilot. I'd hate to call them now and ask a question now. I'll bet they can't even spell "C/L" any more. I can hear it now, "We sell Control Line kits still?" It's nice that Brodak is here now. I can only imagine what would the Sig family done with the ARF failures of the past years. I can say, with confidence, it would have been handled much faster and with happier results. When you focus on the customer other things fall in place. Sig proved that for 40 years. The last 10 have been a bit tougher.
Back to the plane. If the fuselage gets kitted, count me in. If Jeff/Morris OK selling the fuse plans as an addendum, count me in. Otherwise post a ton of pics for us, OK? Pal... Buddy... OK???

I love that color scheme! I really admire some of the great covering jobs I see here, and this one is another great one. I sometimes think the entire left side of my brain is on vacation..

You have just altered my covering job for the next plane I'm working on. I had a whole thing in my head but after seeing the plane above I'm going to take some styling ques from the pics above. Thanks for the pics!

That is a heck of a job! Do us all a favor and get some plans (fuselage addendum) out! Call Morris and maybe they could (with Jeff) give some official OK to do so. That's a gorgeous job. I can't wait to see the rest. Get that sucker airborn soon!!!!!

I'll have to agree with Paul - That is an awesome covering scheme - Rick! Did you paint on the flames, or is it covering mat'l using the Windex technique? Can't wait to see the finished product!
