Paul framed up my knife in 3nights. He flew my kit or scratch build that I bought off of J.Williams at the 1st annual probro flyin. We liked it so well that Paul almost lost his head over it. But he felt real sorry for me after I crashed it. I asked him to build me another 1. So he did.
I have had it for about 6 weeks, and haven't started on it yet.
Here is the 1 that Paul and I liked real well.

For you pros, is every angle perfect? Does every piece of wood but up exactly to the other piece of wood? How exacting are you?
I dunno if I explained it well but I do as the instructions say and try to make everything fit well, no excess gaps on ends of sticks. I could take some pics to demontrate if need be.

m.gramling, I dunno about totally destroyed! I had an ultimate bluehawk that looked like that about 3 times. It looks pretty fixable from the topside. Whats underneath?

topside looks great.
but when I opened up the covering to see what was damaged. all the wing ribs were destroyed. servo rails were pull all the way loose. i would have to basicly build all new wing ribs. then have to worry about putting the fuselage back together. It wasn't worth the trouble. I will take pictures of the inside of it in the next couple of days.

I'm probably spending too much time making sure everything is "perfect".
I build more like a paranoid cabinet maker. Measure twice, measure twice again, and then cut. Instead of measure twice cut once!
But, even with CA's, it will still take me 15 to 30 minutes to build one aileron. That's framed, sanded, and ready to slot and cover. Like I said, to get a wing close to being able to cover will take a full Saturday.
I probably just need to build more. I have found that the more I build, the faster I get.

That's the key.... Just crash more... Then you HAVE to build!!! And make sure there's a dead line like a fly in or something that you have to be too..... You'll get fast in a hurry....

Yeah, that's all I need! My wife is already ticked at me when she started counting airplanes.
She tells me "No Crashes" when I leave because she knows I'll have to spend money to get the airplanes fixed/replaced.

Luckily my wife has turned off all senses the my RC hobby. I tested her by bringing my new 68 inch wing span Bucker bipe and putting it where she had to see it (by the washing machine). She never mentioned it. When I start talking RC to a buddy I have also found that she can't hear a word we say. I have tested this, she doesn't hear anything any of us say. I use the credit card about once a week at right around $30 and she has said anything about that either. Very interesting.

Billy,
are you ready to start on the Gee Whiz Bee ? I wanted to get to it as of this coming weekend ! Can't probably wait no longer ! My fingers are starting to itch and burn because of lack of working on my planes or building something. As soon as I get back tomorrow from Rhode Island I will have to hit the shop.

I'm almost finished with the Pen Knife. But who knows how long covering will take. You get on it and I'll catch up. I'm taking two weeks off starting first thing in the morning.

It looks like someone got me a TT Pro .36 off my Tower Wish List.
http://www.secondsight.com/rc/list.htm
What is the prop for this a 9x4 or 9x3? I'm sure this is a strong motor so I thought I might get away with a little more prop for a little less speed. I picked the TT because of the weight, the make and the cost (and if I crash it would be a great motor for the Duck I think).
The OS is insane $$.
So far I have 3 HS81 metal gear servos and the new Hitic RX (the blue one). I'm going sullivan on the tail wheel and probably the stock aluminum on the front gear with the stock wheels (a first).
