I just picked up an Acell Pitts S2C 40 Bipe and the instructions say to start with the CG at the lead edge of the lower wing. I'm a newb to Bipes and not clear on how to measure CG on it. Do I check in the upright position and start with the lead edge and move it back as I learn the characteristics, or do I balance it upside down on the top wing and target the lead edge of the lower? I usualy balance planes at the recommended CG and not had any problems or surprises. I would also add that my experience is limited and not doing any 3D at all (Hope to learn soon)!
Thanks for any help,
Peter

Place your fingers under the top wing on each side of the rear cabane post, and adjust the balance so the plane hangs level in the upright position. This will be slightly nose heavy, but will be a good starting CG position.
Later on as you get used to the Pitts, you can slowly move the CG back to match your personal tastes.
