Hey! I had no problems getting everything I needed into the plane. Actually I am getting tired of it and I have one for sale with a used magnum .46 2-Cycle. If there is anyone interested further email me and I will go into depth with the specs and all.
All of you who haven't yet finished or flown this airplane is in for a real duzzy. I was amazed of the capibilities of this specific airplane. This is even my second one. The first one had a little accident. Someone was a little too careless and turned on their transmitter with the same channel as I was 3D flying and I just lost control. There was no way of recovering from its death. Well cant wait to hear from you all.

Since I have been flying for a while I set all the throws to maxium extent for high rate and about half way for low rate. You might have to work with yours. I know you are going to have a blast.

I just sold my 4th Somethin' Extra...
I had the rudder maxed out. I cut the opening between elevator halfs, so that's how much throw I had!
I had at least 40-45 degrees both ways on the elevator.
I had the ailerons up as far as they would go...
I used 100% expo on the elevator, none on rudder, 50% on ailerons...

Hey bottlerocketwar,
How did you make the rudder control throw area wider and did it actually knife edge afterwards? Cuz I would love to be able to knife edge.

Hey I added 2 inches of rudder on my SE and 1 inch of counter balance. I think this is the easiest way to get more authority out of the rudder along with extra torque servos (70oz+). On my SE I put a Saito 72 with a 13 X 6 APC prop. My CG is around 4 1/2 inches back from the LE. My SE will do a Knife edge loop! Sigs recommended throws and CG:
Center of Gravity: 3.5" Back from the wing's leading edge
Control Throws- Low Rate High Rate
Ailerons: Up & Down 1" 1-1/2"
Elevator: Up & Down 1-1/4" 1-3/4"
Rudder: Right & Left 1-7/8" 2-1/4"
I think the extra power has more to do with knife edge flight than anything else.

I just cut off the inside of each elevator half until I got the max throw out of the rudder that my servos and pushrods would allow. I got a lot! It will Knife Edge...
The counterbalance on top of the rudder makes a much bigger difference, compared to making it longer. I made the rudder 2 inches longer on one of mine and it would not KE. More throw, a counterbalance, and a rearward CG makes a big difference. What it really needs is a taller fuselage!

To all,
Well my plane will knife edge but unfortunately it will not hold it. It slowly sinks out of the position. That's a bummer. Oh well that is the only think that I cannot do with it without modifying it. Im trying to get rid of it now though. To get a bigger better aircraft. Something like the Aeroworks Edge 540T with a 64" wingspan. I am putting a O.S. 1.08 2-cycle into it. It will do what I want. Im sure of it.

SOMETHIN' EXTRA ARF W/ MAGNUM XL-46A
This is my 2nd plane and I have the wings and the tail, landing gear etc. that I will be including with the assembled plane for a nomial price of $250.00.
This plane is in great condition and has only 1 crash landing on it. Problem was fixed and strengthened. Performance is specataular. The wingspan is 51.5" Length is 48.25 Radio required is a standard 4 channel radio with 5 servos. This aircraft is the purple and white version and its the perfect contest plane.
The engine is in good condition with little visible wear on the exterior of the casing. A 12" hovering prop is included.
A ditgal voltmeter is permanently place inside the cockpit.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
Thanks

Yeah maybe but hopefully I will get someone to buy it. It is in really good condition though. The engine is old on the outside but it has the power the average enthusiast is looking for. Unstable just purchased my spare wings from me so I guess I can lower it to $225. I really am in need of money though. Just recently I went to go flying and unfortunately I had a little too much rudder input to bring my H9 Cessna 182 around and it went into a snap. Couldn't get it out and now there is no more Cessna. RIP

When i was flying mine i had to build a new rudder. Even then it didnt knife edge real well. I couldnt get enough throw out of the elevator and couldnt get the cg back far enough so i mounted the elevator servo in the tail along with the batt. After that it flew pretty good. Waterfalls were pretty good but still had a hard time holding a hover. It would hold knife acrossed the field but it was on the prop mostly. If the motor was not tuned perfect it would fall out of KE.
I striped the fuse and modified it. Still have to cover and fly it. That will have to wait till summer time. If you want to see it click on website button on the bottom.
