Default what profile plane would you recomend me to build for an o.s .40 LA

Hi fun fly guys i want to get started in this stuff " fun fly", since i saw those profile planes videos (hovers, crazi knife edges, water falls, tornados, flat spins ...) i want to experiment with tha kind of airplanes, i can do some aeromatics with me dazzler, but i want to fly one of those...because i live in venezuela (latin america) it's no easy to find a place to buy this kind of airplanes, so i desided to build my own.

what profile plane would you recomend me to build for an o.s .40 LA? and where can i find some plans to download? is it possible to fly these airplanes with a simple 4 channel radio?.

Any information provided i will be apreciated.

I've got a 42 in a Sirex Wasp. First model I scratch built. 40LA would work a treat.

Find the plans at....

http://www.users.bigpond.com/sirexwasp/

Not as fun to build as Paul Swany's Taco though. If you increased the size a little bit I would have thought 40 LA would be good.

Default 40 size

you could build a profile out of plastic and it would be 100 time stronger than balsa. The plans can be found a spadtothebone.com but you will have to ask some one in the sight about the plans or go to S.P.A.D. TOPIC IN THE RCUniverse.com and ask someone in there they will help you with what you would like to do.

Build a QHOR! Use the 32" span version. www.spadtothebone.com, or search for QHOR on this site. Lot's of posts on it....

Build a Menace from MS Models. Use a mousse can pipe and an 11x4 prop. good to go.

Default Awe-HOR!

(a.k.a. PQHOR with Fun-Fly mods for Awesome HOR). The coroplast can get bought at most sign shops. Easy to build, a heck of allot of fun! Go to my website where you will find movies of my Awe-HOR flying and 3D'ing.

Yup build a menace. I have an OS LA 40 in one of mine and its my favorite out of the three. I use a tuned pipe and a 10x4APC prop. It hovers great and a great fun flying plane and fully 3D

Default Profile Hots

In the case of balsa, the MAN Profile Hots plan is a winner. It weighs about 3 lbs. ready to fly. The little .40 LA should pull that around well... Not much wood in it, either, so it's cheap to build...

I built mine with an OS .46 LA on it, and it would hang on the prop till it ran out of gas, if you so choose. I also put some 1/8" wire 'normal' gear on it, instead of that single wheel stuff, and it worked really well... I built mine in a week, from scratch, so you know it's an easy one...

good luck in your choices,

Hi,

Is good to see another Venezuelan pilot in RCU, I fly a Super Wasp in Caracas (I'm from Club Dedalo) with an OS FX 46 but at sea level (as in Maracaibo) if you keep it light you won´t have too many troubles, if you need the plans I have it published in Aerovenezuela Group in the Files section.

I´m ready to begin with the QHOR because I have heard just good words about it and after a month looking for the Coroplast, I found a place here in Caracas where I will buy it next week. The trick to find Coroplast is to go to a Publishing company (as I did) and ask about coroplast and they should now where to find it in Maracaibo.

Good Luck

It's going to be close. I'm going to say yes it will if you've got is tuned right and it's not an old dog. Your looking at between 3.5 and 4 pound airplane, depending on your radio gear.

Tattoo's right - Pinhead. The LA40 would work, though marginal. If you're stuck with the LA40, you might want to build the 30 in. or less, QHOR as opposed to the PQHOR. My Awe-HOR#1 is 3-3/4 lbs., and the Awe-HOR#2 is 4 lbs. Both have a TT36 w/ MCM, 3- Hitec 225MGs, and 2 std servos.
