any .45 or satio 72, stock 3004 servos on 5 cells. Linkage, tank, wheels, covering, control horns.

Should be about it

Oh sorry! Well, 5 cells will wake up the servo's. There just toooooo slow for me on 4 cells! I run the car packs, there 1100 mah ni-metal and can fly for 2 days on a charge.
Try to get pretty big wheels, somthing like a 2.5 to 3 inch.
I had a 4 0z tank but moved to the oval 6 oz. Its about the same size as the 4 and i get a lot more fly time. about 20 min.
For push rods just go get the bag of 2-56 rods with threads on one end. I use gp or sullavan control horns. On this 540 i have rocket city ball joints on the control surface and a z bend at the servo but i like clevis at the control better. A lot cheaper too.
Hope this helps.

That helps ALOT, thanks.

one question though.......why 2-56's, seems like most of the threads I have been readin the guys go to the 4-40's instead?

I think it's mostly for weight savings. Plus, the runs are short enough that you don't get much flexing in the rods. You have to remember that these planes aren't meant to be flown fast, so the flight loads on the control surfaces are not as great. I'm using 2-56 rods on mine with Hited 225MG servos. Seems to provide plenty of control surface authority.
