Why are most of the funfly wings that I see are short, Fat and have a HUGE chord.
Fat I can understand for the slow flight.
But why the low aspect ratio?

The closer the weight of the aircraft is to it's center, the more it is able to manuver. Longer (and wider) planes tend to wind up in snaps and spins. That's no big deal if the manuvers take place at higher speeds. The wing (or tail) just stops the inertia. Fun fly planes fly much slower, and would not stop a manuver in the same way with long wings. It would keep on doing what ever and mush around. The shorter planes keep the weight near the center and reduce the inertia built up during the manuver. That makes a much more controlable plane.
Make sense to anyone else?

The Hershy Bar wings are there for a couple reasons.
First off, ever seen a glider with a big fat and wide wing? No. They have long thin wings for the best glide. In our FunFly's we want the opposite, so the wings are the opposite way.
In KE the fuselage acts as a very high aspect ratio wing...Not a problem doing high alpha flight in KE. Same thing goes for wide wings. Makes it all easier...
Rolls faster with more weight closer to the center, just like TailTwister explained.
I know there is a lot more, I just can't think of any of it right now.
