FF540 Building.
I am building one now. Check for some info on my post about Words of wisdom. The kit I got was fine, several complained about a few warped pieces of balsa, but that is the worst problems I have heard. Looks like a keeper if I can fly good enough, but that is another BIG topic. Bob Bauer

There have been several threads on this plane. It is my current favorite plane. It is an easy build, although mine was short a little wood (easily replaced).
My recs would be to dump the wire gear and use Dubro or CF landing gear, add a funcional tailwheel (here is a pic of mine, actually lighter than the wire skid), and to go for it.

|LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT !!!!!
I gave a flight demo the other day and it went GREAT. I thought of a finishing move that kicked all.
Takeoff rotate quickly to vertical after gaining about 9 feet do an outside waterfall, then a one turn spin, chop the throttle and float down to a landing. OHHHS AND AHHHS FROM THE CROWD

Now, that a great looking plane! I like the design on your wing! Sharp job, lomevek1
I've been waiting a long time to decide on which plane to buy.
I'll go with door no. 1, FF540P from Ohio Models!!!!
I've heard so many problems with the wood and not getting the wood and hardware on the Sledge, that there is just,
No Way! Not until they clean up their act!

Just did the maiden flights on mine today... It pretty much kicks butt. I did have to buy some wood that I was short, but no biggie. This thing makes it look like I know how to hover.
