An OMP Edge is Born!!
Well she looks just like I wanted. It is an intense looking bird. I haven't stuffed it with gear and engine yet but I was excited to let everyone take a look at her. This is the Ohio Model Planes Edge 540 .40 size.

and the top
There are no pictures of the bottom because the digi camera was full. I like the bottom of my planes to be dark so she is mostly blue. The checker board does come around the bottom but them I put the trans blue over it so it is a "phantom" quarter checker board.

That is one sick bird Billy...GREAT JOB!! I love those colors together. I'm going to use those same colors but wasn't thinking about using the trans blue but now seeing yours...I think I will be going trans blue for the base color. Is that the Monokote trans blue? Is the trans any more difficult to apply then the regular monokote? I must say again, that is one great looking plane!

covering
It's trans blue Mono and Ultra checker and yellow. I did the whole plane in trans first. Then I cut my "gothic" flames out of checks. Then I took the backing from the flames, outlined them on the back of yellow, cut the jaggy edges and cut the inside and ironed them on.
The trans is the same as the normal. You can get pretty sloppy with the innitial ironing and then get it tight with the heat gun. I could have left it trans blue and checks and it would have looked great. I just wanted to do this to see if it would look as good as the prototype photoshop image.
Now I have to stuff it (engine, electronics)!

Congratulations Billy ! That is a killer job, and again I am totally jealous
You guys are going to put so much pressure on me. I now need to find a killer covering job for my FF Taco. I know I will go transparent, but not sure with what.
