Hey! thats the same small tube I got with my first one... Thats the one that I'm going to use for the anti rotation pin. I also had the extra fuse tube from my last ARF, I took it out and cut it and I now use it as a wing tube. It was a couple mm to thinner than the aluminum one so I just wrapped it in electric tape now It works fine.

So here is an update: I got 5, 10 minute flights in today with high speed snaps, walls and moderate to hard 3D flying. The wing bolt mod held up flawlessly. I was worried that I might see the hole in the CF tube start to wear or round out. So far no evidence of that. I used the bottom aft stock tab as an anti-rotation pin and for the first time I saw no cracking or evidence of stress on the tab at the end of the day. If you have the time I really recommend doing the modification it makes the wing mount a zillion times stronger, I could not be more pleased with how it worked out.

I'm just looking for some time off work to even get started on mine...why is it when the weather gets warm everyone calls in sick?? cause some dope who needs the money (me) will work for them.
I'll certainly try to dublicate the wing bolt idea when I build mine...great job C-n-B!!!

hey guys I just threw some Ohio Model Products 90 size tetherite gear on the profile. It gives it a better stance, improves prop clearance ( 16inch prop in photo) and is much stronger while still flexible.

Ok..i swear you have stolen the last two ideas for this plane from me...I didn't say anything the first time thinking it was just coincedence. I was going to bolt the wings together at the same spot you did but with a nylon bolt and two blind nuts
...just yesterday I came across a landing gear setup just like the one in your picture and thought hmmm...that would work..
and now you beat me to it again
are you sure we are not brothers??

Thanks TJ
didya notice the fancy spark plug?? (doggone postal service) Ken offered to send me a new one.
I guess you could call this a start
Been repairing broken wing ribs and added reinforcement from a twist 40 to the elevator (yeah it is plenty strong). I still think some extra wood to spread the stress on the elevator would be a good idea. ( like c -n- b did on his)

Yeah I did my elevator the way you did yours, but, the extra piece of wood Idea is nice also I still might do it to mine this weekend. As far as the wing bolt goes, I didn't mount mine as far up as CnB did, I mounted it so that the bolt is more aft so that I can just use one wing nut to tighten it down. I just put a blind nut on the RX side hatch and threaded the 3" Bolt though and put locktight it down in there so it wont come out. And the other side has a hole drilled to receive the bolt I just put a washer and a wing nut on and it hold pretty tight. I also put the one anti rotation pin in mine toward the back.
I'll post a couple pictures tomorrow I have to go to work, I'm on the graveyard shift.

the instructions are very limited ( or even non-existent)..
I have not figured out where to set the wing...(i guess it is called incedence) there does not appear to be any predrilled places for the little tabs to bolt to.
so I was wondering how you set yours up??
and approx where did you set your control thows...please dont say "Barn Door"..I wanna fly mine more than once...

I have different rates on my surfaces. For full 3d I did just as you say "Barn Door" all I can get. but for more sport flying they are set to about... elevator 20* ailerons 30 to 40* depending on how you like your roll ( you will find that because of the wing area, lower rates on the ailerons seem to roll the plane slow). and my rudder is set to about 30*
Having expo on your radio really helps when setting your plane up with very high rates...

That is a Super Tigre .90 coverted to gas by Ken Lambert. www.lambertsrc.com.
steel crank pin, needle bearings, walbro carb...the works. Here is a vid from his youtube with the ST 90 gasser. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXB-r...e=channel_page
Here is one of his current ads on RCU... http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemid=504160
Kinda like the BME version. http://www.bmeengine.com/engines.htm
Ken Lambert flew at my local field a few times and I got to go through his shop and see how he converts these engines...Top notch work!! and a great guy.
I believe he will convert ST .90 through 3250...if you have one you want converted.
(sorry my pics are blurry..think the battery is going dead)

Oh yeah, I just read back where I said I lined the aft the the wing with the wing tube, I meant Fuse tube... The wing tube hole and the fuse tube are in the same area though.

yeah I see now why you guys were talking about running your new anti-rotation pins through the CF fuse tube..that would line it up just right with the wing...I get it.
crash -n- burn
Amen brother!!
Here is how mine turned out...

D'OH [:@] flying in winds gusting over 30, dirty low 3D - I can fix it hey its a profile thats what its for. Wings held up great though the bolt is rock solid. Also these gear are fantastic for this plane, a perfect match I am really happy with them. Just enough give to prevent damage but not enough to give you a prop strike, fantastic !

I take it you went out to the field to day? I learned my lesson the first time flying in high winds! Never again![8D] It shouldn't take that long to fix that it broke in a pretty good spot. They should have put a carbon fiber tube in the front also.
Mine has looked worse than that. I've crashed it I think 3 hard times now, and one doink.
