Webra question
Ok i found a website that holds spec information on these two motors, here it is...http://www.adis.at/webra/index.htm now on that site if I understand it right it says that the 50gt weighs 320g and the 61 weighs 445g ...but on a thread in here when I did a search some guy with the 61 said that his weighed 20.8 oz WITH a muffler...does anyone know the real weight of these two motors. 20.8 oz is 590g and i don't think that 445 is without a muffler, at least I can't imaging a muffler weighing 145g or 5.1 oz!Anyone know? And on a side note, would the webras do a better job with my extreme 330 than my saito 72 for fun flying? If the 72 and the 61 weigh exactly the same, which one would produce more authority out of the hover with the plane weighing 6 pounds
Thanks guys

Webra question
My Webra 50GT without muffler and with propwasher, propnut, and glowplug weighs 12.4 ounces. My scale is a digital and is accurate. That's about an ounce heavier than is listed on Horizon's site. My Irvine 53 weighs 2 ounces more. I doubt you will find a lighter engine in the .50 range. The OS 50SX is heavier than the Webra too. I threw in a little bit of extra info there, maybe it will benefit someone. I've never had a Webra 61 so I can't help you with a weight on it. I didn't realize the CG Extreme 330's were that heavy, 6lbs sure seems like a lot for it.

Webra question
Just weighed my .50GT and its 350 grams (12.35oz) without muffler and 450grams (15.9oz) with.
Even Webra say its weight is 320grams but maybe that's without a carby aswell ?

How much harder, Kevin? I was thinking this might be my next motor, in part to your praise of this engine.
I now have a ys-63 on a knife, and was thinking when I build a sledge, I would buy a webra 50 to put on it ( or visa-versa ). The ys is tricky ENOUGH for me to set up ( actually, I got help; I can't tune a radio, let-alone an engine!) But once there, I haven't touched it.
Would I have to be constantly tuning it, if so, maybe a webra isn't for me? I gave up on my mvvs 40 for that reason!

Webra question
I let my Webra 50 break-in completely (2 gallons of 5%) before I even thought about fine tuning the low end. It had a part-throttle stutter when going to WOT. Right were it would run when hovering. The low end just needed to be gradually leaned until it went away. This was the first carb that I have tuned were the low end effected the high end. Runs much better now. I'm using a 11x4 APC prop and I tached it at 14,300 peak, richened it up and it runs at 13,800 reliably. Am using the stock muffler.

Webra question
Ive got a speed 40 and a speed 50. I havent ran the 50 much yet but I will as soon as I can get it on my new plane. The speed 40 I have will outperform any 46 engine you can find.

Webra question
I was running a 14-4 on my 50 the other week but I am going to try the 13-4 now and see what happens. The 14-4 was great and I might end up using that. I cant imagine an 11-4 ..wow........Id stand back...lol.....As far as the 72 goes...well you cant go wrong there either.

Webra question
I replaced the 11x4 APC with a 12x4 APC. Did not peak it, but got an as run rpm figure of 12,900. Hovering was easier, spool up time definitely slower but still acceptable. I think it's a keeper. As a side note it was lighter than the prop it replaced, made a tail heavy plane even more tail heavy. There was about a 15mph wind coming straight down the runway and I got to practice harrier rolls with no forward momentum. Plane is CG Extreme 330.
