I had to do an impromptu repair on a cowl and need the plane this weekend for an event. Is there some version of hardware store paint that is fuelproof or at least will last for a few flights? I am not concerned with color, texture or finish just that it will cover the repaired area and not flake or wear off right away. I do not have a hobby store close by and don't know that there is enough time to order and get some here.
Any thoughts?

Some of the polyurethane cans are fuel resistant, not proof. They are better if they can cure for a couple of days to a week. As long as you do not soak it with fuel, clean it up after the flight with alcohol you should be OK.
Do you have a automotive paint store around? They might be able to mix up a 2 part clear and pout it in a spray can?
Buzz.
