I'm just finishing putting together an arf but I ran out of thin CA for the fibre hinges. I have medium ca but i'm not sure whether or not to try it.. anybody try medium CA+ on fibre hinges? or can I use epoxy?

Hi RVD,
No and no. You should go buy some more thin CA. Correct installation of these types of hinges is dependent on good capillary action. You will not get this with medium CA and definitely epoxy should not be used.
It might be a pain to go get some more thin CA, but I guarantee it will be a lot less painful than picking up the pieces of your plane when the hinges pull out. :-)

That's what I thought.. i guess i'll wait..
I did use epoxy on CA hinges awhile back on a trainer.. I made sure the hinge slots were all coated with 30min epoxy then I coated the hinge ends and slid them in.. I put almost 100 flights on that plane and not one of those hinges failed...
you never know..........
