Agree with Hydro Junkie. I cut my parts with a scroll saw close to the line and finish them off with a 6" Dremel belt/disk sander. Quick and precise.

On the two planes I'm working on, the fuse sides were cut out with a band saw and sanded to shape, the wing ribs were rough cut and sandwiched between two ply patterns and sanded to the edges of the patterns, all using my belt sanders. Ribs came out perfectly matched and the fuse sides are so close there is virtually no difference in them. A final light sand with a sanding bar and the parts all were ready to install.

I beg to differ. I have used Craftsman, Rigid, B&D, Jet, and several others. All work equally well when properly maintained and used within their limits

i'll agree,....if you're going to use a tool, learn a little about what that tool needs to stay tuned. most all of them work great when they get the adjustments and maintenance that they need. the less expensive just need to be checked and adjusted a little more often.

Got an old Dremel belt/disc sander that's so old, I can't remember when or where I got it. But it does what I need. On the side I have a spindle sander. Never needed anything else until I planked a scale sailboat deck with white oak. Then I bought a hand held orbital.
