cycling thru charge switch

My Feedback: (9)
I am NOT a battery expert. But my impression was the NiMh battery packs did not benefit from cycling like the NiCads do.
As far as the switch, as long as the rate was not extreme on the charge or discharge it should not be a problem. MPI and others have a port made into their switches.

Makes no difference at all. I cycle everything for testing purposes. I caught an LiFe that was going bad just last year by cycle testing. Had I not, I might have lost the plane if I had decided to fly it the max number of times that is normally safe for that battery.

When NiMh batteries have set for a long time they require repeated cycling to get them back to fully charged.
I do not know why this is, I just know it happens.
I've seen it happen with as little as 2 months with no activity.
Good Luck,
